King's POV
"She had food poisoning from eating too much food. Her system wasn't used to these kinds of foods anymore." The doctor in his early forties reported to King and moved away from Amelia.
King narrowed his eyes on him. "What did you mean Ace, it's just normal food!" His eyes assessed Amelia on the bed, her cinnamon-like hair covered her face as she slept peacefully. "You aren't saying anything, Ace?" He raised his head and glared at the doctor.
Ace cleared her throat moving a bit back. "Alpha King…her case is quite special, her body was reacting to foods which made me wonder what her diet was before." He explained with a gentle voice, hoping his answer wouldn't make him angry.
King's face was blank with confusion. No wonder she looked so thin, she had no weight when he carried her earlier. 'Who exactly is Amelia, A princess, A maid, or An Alpha?' The question lingered in his mind.
"Don't worry Ace, just tell Hazel what her new diet should be and drugs you'd recommend." He said not lifting his eyes from Amelia.
"Yes Alpha King," Ace bowed before walking out with Hazel who was silent all while.
"You are confused right?" Lopez asked immediately as the doctor left the room, he walked toward King and fixed his gaze on Amelia. "Should I find out who she really was?"
"No, it's not necessary." He doesn't need to waste resources on a mere lady who doesn't add value to him, and they are just bonded by contract after all.
Lopez stared widely at him as he moved closer to King. "No? I thought you_
King snapped his head at him, his gray eyes shone brightly. "I said No!" His tone was of finality, not ready to hear another word about the issue.
"Okay Alpha," Lopez bowed in respect, stepping back from him.
King rolled his eyes. Why on earth did he even bring her to his room? He had never brought anyone into his room, but seeing her in that position earlier threw him off guard. Just because he was cold-hearted doesn't mean he would leave her alone, but there wouldn't be again next time.
He stood up from the bed and turned to Lopez. "She is nothing to me so I can't waste resources on her, refrain from any thoughts of finding out who she is."
Lopez shrugged his shoulders with a nod. "Okay." He said, raising his hands in the air. King fixed him a glare not trusting him which made Lopez chuckle.
"I'm serious, I won't, I'm not interested in her matter." Though his curiosity peaked, he respected King's decision.
"Better." King pushed his hair forward to cover his mask a bit. "Let's go." He announced walking out of the room.
Lopez quickly jogged after him. "What about Amelia? You are leaving her alone in your room. That's dangerous." King halted at his words.
He glanced at sleeping Amelia and then back at Lopez. "She won't try anything." Surprisingly, he trusted her not to snoop around in his room. It's dangerous as Lopez mentioned but he believed she wasn't like that.
Lopez shrugged. "Okay." He muttered opening the door for King, he glanced at Amelia and shook his head.
...
Amelia blinked her eyes severally before opening them wide, her eyes were blurry for seconds before she got control of her eyesight. She winced as she sat up on the bed. "Where am I?" She glanced around the room confused, when the familiar scent caught her nose. The strong scent of musk clung to the room, mixed with citrus. Sharp and warming. The scents blended so well and they made her heart flutter.
"s**t!" She screamed when it dawned on her rushing to her feet, she wobbled and her hands went to the headboard for support. She glanced around the room and her jaw dropped seeing the massive room. The floor-to-ceiling was the first that captivated her, it revealed the icy mountains far ahead, with thick forest surrounding it. At one side by the window was a throne chair she badly wanted to sit on.
At a corner stood a big mahogany chair and desk with a massive bookshelf behind it.
She was in King's room! How did she end up in his room? The last thing she remembered was fainting due to her stomach ache, he actually helped her.
Her heart bubbled with joy, she shouldn't have felt special but she couldn't help the feeling, no one had ever cared for her so it made her happy. No one had ever tended to her when she fell sick, though she knew King only tended to her so she wouldn't die during the two years.
She released a deep sigh pushing the thought away before standing up straight and walking toward the vanity table.
'Just a little snooping won't hurt right?' A sly smile appeared on her face and pulled the first drawer open. "Wow," She muttered seeing his masks, they ranged from different colors to designs.
She ran her hands through them and shivered, this would get her in trouble if caught but then no one was around. She glanced at the door with a smirk before picking out a unique one. A gold mask.
"Wow." She ran her hands through it. She didn't expect that the mask would be made from pure gold. It had a small rope that could be attached to the ear and a pin at the edge that could be clipped to the hair, she quickly fixed it on her face and gasped at her reflection. "Damn…I looked like a bad bitch." She giggled, placing her hand on her hips, and widened her stance.
She deepened her voice and glanced at her reflection. "I am Alpha King, the Alpha Governor. Surrender or lose your hand."
"Really?" She jumped up at the cold voice behind her, she swirled toward the voice and her legs turned jelly.
"Alpha…King," She stammered swallowing her spit, he was standing by the door with his hands crossed over his chest. His eyes glowed with fury. "I…I'm sorry."
King scoffed in disbelief as he slammed the door closed, the sound rattled through the room and Amelia jumped backward. "Never thought you were this bold."
"Bold?" She shook her head, removing the mask quickly, and dropped it on the desk, and before she could glance up, he was right before her. She jerked back in fear. 'How did he always do that?' She thought.
King stared at her, his gray eyes shining with rage. No one had ever touched his mask and this mere lady dared to put it on her face. He watched as she shivered like a leaf and smirked. "Lose their hand right?" He taunted stalking to the edge of the vanity table, his eyes fixed on her.
"Hand?" Her eyes flared up as she touched her hand. "No…no, please not my hand. I was being childish and unreasonable."
King narrowed his eyes at her, trailing his fingers on her cheeks and brushing her hair away from her neck which made her shiver. What the hell was he doing to her? She held her breath, her eyes dropped to his open shirt. His tone chest glints, a tattoo poking out. She couldn't define exactly what it would be but she wanted to rub her hand on it badly.
King rubbed his fingers on her neck. "Where did you get this?" He demanded not lifting his gaze from her neck.
"Huh?" Amelia was dumbfounded, what was he talking about? "I…I don't understand, Alpha King."
King moved away from her, suddenly taking control of himself. "Get out!" He barked sparing her no glance.
Amelia's eyes widened with fear. "What?"
"I said Out!"
Amelia jumped back with a scream. "Of course, I'm…already going." She shuttered running out without glancing back.
