Helping the weak

CChapter 13 Amelia wandered through the colorful flower garden, kicking the pebbles on her way, the moon hung low in the sky brightening her path. This was one of the nights, she wished she had her wolf to run in the woods and unleashed her sorrow. She just wanted to run till her bone became sore but it was all a sad wish. At twenty, she was still wolfless which made her gain a lot of enemies back in her pack. She heaved a deep sigh staring at the stars, she just hoped she got her this year. A sharp cry cut through the forest and stopped immediately as it came. Amelia stumbled backward in fear, glancing frantically around. Her heart pounded in her chest as she looked through the empty garden, she was sure she heard a sound now, though it stopped as it came but she heard it. She inhaled and exhaled before she turned around and walked briskly out of the garden. She shouldn't be in a dangerous place, she had no wolf to defend herself and no one was in sight to help her. One thing she knew was King wouldn't even bat an eye if anything happened to her, but another shriek made her jerk towards the corner the sound came from. Panic filled the voice as it vibrated through the garden, she walked briskly towards it without thinking twice. What if someone needed help? Or the person just got her wolf, she heard how excruciating the pain was. Amelia's eyes widened, with fear and shock at the same time, because of the scene unfolding before her. A bulky Gamma cornered a tiny lady to the wall, her black hair dismantled over her face with her gown making a pool at the lady's waist. The Gamma fondled her boobs while he covered her mouth with his other hand. A loud shriek erupted from Amelia pulling their attention towards her. A dark scowl appearing on the guard's face as he registered her presence. "Scurry off tiny wolf." He growled not moving an inch from the maid. Chills ran down Amelia's back as her breath quickened; she rubbed her clammy hands together as she walked closer to him, hiding her fears. "You should leave her alone." She snapped, hiding her trembling hands behind her. The guard c****d his brow at her before letting out a loud mocking laugh while moving away from the lady, she quickly went to Amelia and hid behind her. "Please help me." She begged, her voice unsteady and barely above a whisper. She clutched Amelia's waist tightly as she trembled and sobbed gently. Amelia's heart shattered with how she was reacting, she pulled the lady closer while widening her stance to cover her entirely. "Get the hell out of here b***h, it's none of your business." The Gamma roared, his brown eyes slowly turning to a deep black. Amelia's knees wobbled at his command but she didn't push the maid out. She would never be okay with herself knowing she let this happen. The Gamma would rather hurt her. She raised her fallen shoulders and fixed him a cold glare. "Alpha King will be so mad if I relate this to him?" The Gamma threw his head back and let out a deep-throated mocking laugh. The lady fisted her palms tightly against Amelia's waist. "And you think Alpha King would care?" He chuckled, stalking closer to them. "Or you think he will believe your words over mine? Who did you think you were?" Amelia stood straight, her gaze fixed on him. "Luna Amelia, your luna." His eyes twitched before he shook his head. "That's a lie." "A lie?" She scoffed then flicked back her hair. "Sorry to say but I already mind liked him now, and he will be here now. You can wait and see." The guard retreated, gritting his teeth. "If I find out this is a lie, you are in damn trouble." He growled pointing his finger at her and smirked before scurrying away. The maid fell to the ground when his figure faded away, her loud cry vibrated through the forest as she wrapped her hands over her body, shivering on the floor. Amelia's eyes watered seeing that, she crouched before her and pulled her in a deep hug. She knew how she felt, she had been there. Harrassed by someone more powerful than you, vulnerable with no one to help. She would cry and scream and no one would help her. The first time Nova caught Thomas harassing her, she laughed and said. Oh endure it Amelia, he was only helping you. Amelia wiped away her tears while she stroked the lady's back gently. Her loud wail gradually reduced and the only sound between them was her uneven breath. "Are you okay?" Amelia asked, pulling away slowly from her. She lifted her head staring at Amelia with tears-filled eyes. It wasn't until then that Amelia saw her face very well and realized it was the maid from the morning. That timid maid, gosh she felt bad for shunning her in the morning. "Thank you." She sniffed, wiping away her tears. "I'm glad to have help." Amelia smiled, wiping her tears. She would have asked if this had been happening for long but with the way her body trembled, it better to forget about it. "Let's go in," Amelia suggested and the maid nodded. Amelia helped her up, removed her woven jacket, and wore it for her. "Thank you, Luna." "You are welcome…" She paused looking at her for her name. "Bella," She completed and Amelia smiled. "Bella," she repeated, loving how it sounded. "That's a beautiful name." Instead of taking Bella to the maid's headquarters, Amelia harbored her in her room hoping no one would find out. After bathing her and giving her the food meant for her. Amelia watched as Bella shivered on the bed hugging the pillow tightly to her chest during her sleep. She must have been traumatized, that s**t still scared her also. Amelia just hoped she didn't run to the guard ever again, because the look he gave her before walking away spelled trouble. Amelia pulled the duvet over Bella and adjusted her head on the pillow before standing up. Amelia's stomach rumbled while walking to the ensuite. 's**t what would she eat now?' She thought and groaned. Nothing, she couldn't go and asked for another portion in the kitchen, and even if she could. She didn't know the way to the kitchen and definitely wouldn't want to witness any bad thing like the other night. Seeing the King with another lady still haunted her. Having no choice, she showered and drank a cup of water before settling on the bed, as she pulled the duvet up her body, the door flung open revealing Alpha King. She threw the duvet away and rose to her feet. "Alpha King," She called, confused and shocked. "Follow me."
