Chapter 8
"Did you Amelia Stone, Alpha of_"
"Princess," She cut the priest off while staring at him blankly, the priest angled his brow in confusion. "The title is princess," She elaborated and he heaved a relieved sigh.
Amelia could feel King's hot gaze on her but she remained unfazed, her eyes holding no emotion as she watched the priest clear his throat and adjust the table knife in his hand. "Did you Amelia Stone, princess of Bloodstone pack, take Alpha King of the Alexander pack as your chosen mate and Alpha?"
Now she returned her gaze to King, and her cheeks burned. Yes, he was a very good-looking man but today he was stunning like he put more effort in his looks for the occasion. But just as the thought came, she shook it away, she must not get carried away in her stupid fantasy, he set boundaries yesterday.
"Yes…" Her voice was barely audible and the priest cleared his throat. "Yes, I will." She repeated, louder this time and the priest beamed before turning to King.
As the priest recited the vow, King's gaze didn't shift from Amelia, she shifted on her legs uncomfortably. He was looking at her with anger mixed with something strange, or she was being delusional, fueling her curiosity to know what was on his mind.
"Yes." He rasped, taking his gaze away from her finally. "I will."
"Good." The priest beamed, and that smile irritated Amelia, 'Can he smile less and get this done quickly?' She thought. "Your hands then?" He requested
Amelia took a deep breath as she placed her trembling hand on the priest's hand, this was the deadly part of the nuptials, the blood sharing.
This would disconnect her from her old Pack and connect her with King's, now King could mind-link her. This was too heavy for her to accept because this bound couple for life but hers was just two years.
Pain coursed through her as the knife slashed her palm, and the priest made the same cut on King's. Amelia wasn't stunned when King's expression showed nothing. Their palms were placed on each other and when their blood touched, she felt a different energy rush through her. She peeked at King but was surprised at his calm demeanor, whereas she was shivering from the rush of the energy.
Setting the knife aside, the priest flashed them a smile. "It is done, you guys are now a couple."
Before Amelia could say, Jack, King was strolling out of the hall, removing his jacket alone. She sighed leaving the room after him, her dream of a perfect life just shattered before her and she couldn't do anything.
King made sure no one attended the wedding just to spite again, all because she refused to thank him. She was going to! She was shy and scared of visiting him.
She pushed her door open and halted, her eyes dilated in shock, Hazel stood in the middle of her room holding a red rose bouquet, a red box laid beautifully on the bed behind her.
"Happy marriage life," Hazel yelled, smiling widely while walking to her. "How was…" She trailed off standing before Amelia. "Are you crying? Why? Did my brother hurt you?"
"Crying?" Her hand went to her cheeks subconsciously, and truly her cheeks were wet, she wiped her cheeks quickly and shared her fragile smile. Hazel's way of supporting her brought tears to her eyes without her realizing, Amelia never expected that anyone would care about her today.
"Did he hurt you?" Hazel's soft voice inquired as she wiped the tears that stained Amelia's cheeks.
Amelia shook her head with a smile. "Nope, he didn't." The lie came out more smoothly than imagined. 'But he did yesterday though. The words were at the tips of her tongue.
Hazel grabbed her shoulders, staring suspiciously at her. Amelia tried to maintain the smile on her face, Hazel was a good person to her, and keeping things away didn't sit well with her, but she didn't trust her. She was King's family after all.
Doubt clouded Hazel's eyes as she stared at Hazel but she shrugged. "If you say so then." She said flatly then a bright smile appeared on her face, and grabbed Amelia's wrist. The sudden movement made Amelia uncomfortable but she tried to hide it with a smile.
"Let's go," Hazel pulled Amelia after her and slammed the door shut behind them.
"Where? I don't__
Hazel stopped abruptly and glared at her. "Oh come on, don't be a joy killer, it's your wedding. You need to celebrate it."
Amelia's shoulders fell and she exhaled deeply. "I don't, there is nothing to celebrate." Hearing that she was married constantly annoyed her, she hated the fact that she was bound to a cold man.
"Come on, let's…go." She pulled her along, giggling at Amelia's scrunched-up face.
Amelia sighed and followed her. 'What could go wrong anyway?' After all, the wedding was just a business and she has her life to live.
___
Amelia walked back into the mansion yawning, her eyes drooping close as she stretched her hands, Hazel dragged her to a private club after making sure she changed out of her wedding dress. It was lively having that much fun after King spoiled her day. She glanced at Hazel who was talking with Lopez, he had dragged her to a side immediately after they stepped in.
She chuckled seeing Hazel's stance widen before him, she wished she could hear their conversation, cause she had never seen Hazel that angry.
She was always happy, and Halo inherited that lovely trait from her, she couldn't wait to meet her again.
Halo's father, who was he? That question had been hunting her but who could she ask? No one so she just sucked it up.
She answered the maids who greeted her with a smile, while she waved back at those who bowed to her. She had lost her way around the palace twice but a maid had described her room to her, she hoped she was not taking the wrong hallway again.
She halted immediately upon the scene displayed before her. King stood by his door and a blonde she-wolf strapped in between his things, hugging him tightly. Amelia's legs wobbled and tears welled up in her eyes.
King was with a f*****g lady on their wedding day, barely up to twenty hours. He lifted his face and their eyes met, his eyes were indifferent, with no single emotion in them except a twitch in his left eyeballs.
He held his gaze on her for a minute before averting his attention to the lady in his arms, he wrapped his hands around her tightly.
Amelia palmed her mouth to avoid releasing that sob, her heart shattering into a million pieces as she watched, she whirled away from them wiping her tears away. "It's nothing," She chanted to herself. He made it clear in the contract already, this should make her happy that it's not her.
She raised her shoulders and flashed him a smile as she walked past them, not bothering to take a glance at them anymore, but what she didn't understand was why his gaze was on her.
