The New Neighbor

1071 Words
Macy  It's a Sunday morning and likewise at 8am I'm at my morning routine. A book in my hand and a coffee in my table. When I'm done with my caffeine, I'll go out and try to find myself a decent food to aid my rumbling stomach.  Yes, it's not the healthiest way to have your breakfast when you're supposed to eat first before coffee. I don't care. Taking care of my body has become the least of my priority since my asshole of an ex got married to some other girl.  Oh, no. This is not a story of a broken hearted girl. I'd rather call it the story of a learned woman.   It's been a year and a half since I broke up with Carl. I still remember how much I cried when he told me he had impregnated some girl from his hometown and he plans to marry her. Of course, I had to just accept everything and move on.  It took a lot of crying and drinking and being miserable before I could finally move on and truly accept everything. Right now, I am at my fifth year in college. I was supposed to graduate last year but I became too affected by my failed relationships and stopped my education. And now that I have partially gotten my s**t together, I enrolled back. Enough with the drama. Hello, I'm Macy Peters, currently at college. A normal hooman and nothing special at all.  I'm enjoying my food at McDonald's when some boy suddenly sat in fronting the table that I occupy. "Hi". He said. I was shocked at first and had to take a longer look at the stranger facing me who actually is not a stranger at all.  "Hey". I replied with a wry smile.  "You remember me right?". He asked awkwardly.  Wow! Those eyes are killer. I shouted at the back of my mind.  "Of course khal, how are you?". I replied after secretly adoring his light brown eyes.   Khal was my classmate in high school. Definitely not the cool dude type, more like just the good dude type. But that was in high school, I mean look at him now. He definitely is a hottie. I guess puberty does hit some people hard ey'.  "I transferred here for good now, I'll be attending school at East High starting tomorrow". He answered smiling.   Not only his eyes but those smiles are killer too. How can someone change so much? But wait? East High? Ha! That's my school.   "That's great khal. Welcome home then." I said smiling and made carefully sure not to mention that I too is enrolled to that same school.  From what I heard before, khal used to transfer schools because of his father's job. But originally, his family is from around this town, our town, the town of Gunningham.   "Thanks Macy". Khal said while flashing those killer smiles again. It took me seconds to respond before I could recover from that.  "Sure thing khal",I replied flashing one of my decent smiles too.  He would not look at me directly for some reason. I can't blame him, I must have looked awful from his view. When I said that I wasn't taking much care of my well-being, I meant that. I can't even remember the last time I actually had a good bath. After gulping my soda in one go, I stood up and reached for my things.  "Gotta go khal, see you around?", I asked hesitantly.  He stood up too and mmmyy he's taller than I'd imagined.  "Okay mace, see you around", he replied.  It's strange how nice it sounded to hear him call me in my nickname.  "Okay khal, bye". I said before turning my back and went home.   As I arrived home, I decided to sleep as I always do. That's how antisocial I am. I'd rather sleep or enjoy some good anime than go out and communicate with anyone outside my world. I woke up with a throbbing pain in my head.  This is nothing new to me as my migraine has been my welcomed guest since I became disoriented. I mean my life not me literally. I decided to get up around 5pm and headed for the nearest pharmacy which is two blocks away from my house.   I was walking my way to the pharmacy when I noticed that the house in the corner of the first block just 4 houses away from my home which used to be empty is now occupied. I stared and stared at it for so long thinking if I should pay a visit to welcome my new neighbors in the neighborhood.  Deciding that I am not in my brightest mood to do so, I took my first step to make my way to the pharmacy. I'm at my forth step when the door of my new neighbor opened and khal went out from it.  "Hey mace". He shouted.  "Hi, you live here?". I asked hesitantly.  "Yeah. You live around here too?". He asked back in a surprisingly glad tone.   "Yeah, fifth house to your left. That's me." I answered hesitantly. It was a little late for me to realize that I should not have told him my address because I would not want to entertain any guest any time soon. Ugh! I facepalmed myself inside my head.   "Cool, I guess we're neighbors huh?"   "I guess we are" I replied with a little awkward laugh.  "Anyway, gotta go khal. See you around then".   "See you around mace". He said with a sweet smile while waving me goodbye and closes their front door.  I finally made my way to the pharmacy and bought some medicine and stuffs to fill my empty stomach. I got home and boiled some water for my cup noodle. After finishing the cup, I headed to my room with a glass of water in my hand to drink the medicine I got from the pharmacy.  I headed straight to my bed after and drifted to sleep. Meeting and talking with khal today had consumed me a lot of energy. I can't even overthink tonight so I guess that's a good thing. Maybe? I don't know.   ------------- A/N: Hello, so how was the story so far? Do you think Macy and Khal can be come friends in the next episodes? Tell me what you think. Thank you for reading my story.
