The company event Rowan had requested was scheduled for tomorrow night. All the company’s executives and employees were invited to celebrate and honor the great man who continued his father’s legacy.
It was a joke.
Benjamin Sommers nearly drove that company into the ground. Then Rowan walked in. She was the one who saved her grandfather’s legacy, the only thing Benjamin Sommers did was give it away.
I had the strange urge to keep it for her. I understood now that she was only working to please her father, but maybe someday she’d regret giving it all up. If that day ever came, I wanted her to be able to come back.
So, I agreed to having the damn party. She didn’t even have to bat her eyelashes at me. Rowan wanted to honor her father, who was I to deny her?
