ANNA NAGAR
Sun-kissed, in a leather bikini that costs more than my monthly allowance and a billionaire on my mind, I could never go wrong. The waves made annoying sounds, but the most disgusting thing right now was Jimmy sitting next to me, rambling about his boring office day.
“You should have stayed at the office.” I fired, putting on my sun shades as I looked away. I heard him sigh but I don't care. “That way I don't get to hear the full details of your boring days at…..” I stopped mid-sentence as my phone began to ring. One look at Jimmy, and I realized he was interested in who was calling, so I did the next thing that came to mind.
I picked up my phone and walked away from him. “I clearly told you not to call. I'm on a date with my husband.” I said into the phone, turning around to make sure Jimmy hadn't followed me.
“I missed you and the time we spent together, come on, we need to see one last time.” That was Trevor, my most recent fling. Trevor and I met at a party, a high-profile party and he sparked an interest in me. One look at him and I knew he was screaming luxury, something Jimmy could only dream about.
“The last time was a mistake, it won't happen again,” I said and swallowed hard, hoping he'd be more insistent. Jimmy could only offer a beach date, an evening stroll, or a date lunch. Nothing extra.
His extra hours at the office despite being the CEO was something I hated. “I'll ask again, when can we meet?” Trevor asked, his husky voice was doing things to my body and all I could remember was the night we had that hot s*x.
His mouth wrapped around my n*****s is something I couldn't forget easily. The way his arms snaked around my waist and even his moans. “One last time,” I said abruptly and heard him sigh.
“Thank you, I'll make it worth your time.” I was grinning from ear to ear when I walked back to my little beach bed and met Jimmy putting on his clothes.
“Who called?” He asked, turning to look at me as I frowned. “Are you leaving?” I asked and he looked keenly at me, shaking his head.
“Who called?” He asked again and this time I knew I couldn't lie. “A friend. We met at the founders’ day party,” I replied and began to apply more sunscreen. “You'd have met him but you chose work that day,” I added, and noticed the pain flash across his face but it vanished within seconds.
“You know the reason why I work so hard so quit acting like you don't.” he fired at me and I raised my hands in surrender.
“So tell me something, what is taking you away on our date? Because I can see you are dressed already.” I asked.
“The new supplies came in, and I need to check them out. I'm sorry.” He whispered and kissed my lips before walking towards the exit. I scoffed and looked at the people on the beach.
They all looked so calm, lovers were running around, children were building sand castles but here I was, wishing my husband would have just an hour for us. I love Jimmy, no doubt but his love for his job isn't something I like to deal with.
I picked up my phone and dialed Sam's number. Samantha is my best friend and only confidant. She's also my moral compass and my soul sister. She picked up the first ring, as if she'd been waiting for my call.
“I thought you were on a date and shouldn't be using your phone, what's wrong?” she asked and I couldn't help but smile. She noticed that something was wrong and that's what I love most about her. She notices even the slightest thing about me.
“Jimmy bailed out of our date, as usual work-related,” I said, yawning to show my irritation. “He's rich already so…”
“He's rich, yet you can't stop thinking about Trevor Green.” She said the name in a whisper and I blushed hard. “Tell me something, did you read my mind?” I asked and heard her chuckle.
“No, but we've been friends long enough for me to know what's running through your mind.” She replied. “He called.” I dropped the bombshell and heard her take a deep breath. “What do you mean?” She asked.
“He called and I agreed to go on a date with him, it's not every day I get to be invited on a date with a billionaire,” I replied and began packing my things into my bag.
“You should get a man too, you know, it would make you more open to life and what it entails.” I heard her laugh dryly and it brought a huge smile to my face.
“Come on, you need to help me pick out a dress and style my hair for the date. I don't want to look tacky.”
I arrived home and placed my things on the table before walking up the stairs and into the bedroom. “If I'm going to be on a date I need to be really beautiful, I need to glam up and make sure I look presentable to Trevor.” Looking at myself in the mirror, I smiled.
The doorbell rang, and immediately I knew who it was. Samantha. I rushed downstairs and threw the door open but instead of Samantha, I was met with a man. He looked like a butler.
“From Mr. Green,” he said, giving me the huge box. I furrowed my brows. “What's this? And how did you know my house?” I asked but he just bowed and walked away.
I took the box inside and opened it, Lo and behold, a brand-new dress, a set of jewelry, and a matching stiletto and bag to go with it.
I felt myself spinning, my cheeks were wide with smiles that began to hurt.
Just then I received a text from Trevor.
“Come without panties.”
