Victoria's POV
His voice startled me. "What are you thinking about?"
I turned to look at him, his eyes still closed. "So, you're awake," I said, my gaze tracing the lines of his handsome face. A smile touched my lips before I could stop it.
He noticed, his brow furrowing slightly. "Do I look funny?" It was such an odd, self-conscious question that it only deepened my smile.
"No, not at all. Why would you ask that?"
"You looked at me, and you smiled," he explained, his tone a mixture of curiosity and caution.
"You saw that? I thought you were still sleeping."
"I was just resting my eyes," he said, shifting in his seat to look out the window. "How far more do we have to go?"
