The hidden secrets of Lacey Thorn

Chapter two

Running down the steps of the library up to my little white Mazda car shaking to open my door, I thought to myself I needed to get home. These red lights felt like forever pulling my phone up to my face, s**t Anne called my about five times. I knew she'd be pissed that I'm late to get ready for our double date tonight. Chad pretty much asked her to hook me up with Jake. Tonight wasn't what I wanted to do, but I knew she'd be pissed if I canceled. I'm almost home and I still couldn't get those eyes out of my head, something was familiar about them. Pulling up I seen Anne outside waiting, " what the f**k lacey, you said you went out with Becky and she told me she hasn't seen you all day", Anne screamed so loud I knew the cute guy next door could hear.  I shut the car door and leaned on the hood, " I'm sorry." I couldn't even finish my sentence before she screamed again. " I don't know what's up with you lately, your not the same. You're always distracted what's going on ? I thought we were friends where were you Lacey? Answer me!" I was holding my breath. I had enough, I'm not her child I couldn't believe she was treating me like this.  I began to speak " What's the big deal, I'm not late for the date Anne, I was at the library and you're acting like I have done something horribly  wrong". I rolled my eyes. She paused for a second and then lowered her voice, " Why didn't you just tell me that?" she looked hurt. I walked closer to her, I knew I couldn't keep it in, while not this time at least. " You always tell me to move on Anne, and to be honest I can't all I think about is finding my parents and if I'm being completely  honest its consumed me. You grew up with such a great mom and dad, I had no family ever and I deserve to know what happened to them and why they lefted me under a damn tree at one week old. And tonight I believe I found answerers or a clue."

Anne pov

I couldn't wait for tonight, a double date? Maybe Lacey will fall for Jake and we will be the cutest couples around this little town. I smiled at the thought. I walked into the kitchen to make some coffee, and my stomach grumbled. Lacey usually makes me breakfast, but today she seemed off. I trust her with everything, I finally feel like I have a sister. I grew up an only child and having a girl around to talk to made me happy. I just hoped she felt the same. Beep Beep, I looked at my phone chad texted " Hey sexy, ready to get dirty tonight?" UGH, sometimes I felt like the only thing chad wants is s*x. I texted back, excited for the double date tonight babe". He read it and no response. I decided to watch my favorite series until Lacey came back. I looked at the time Lacey said she would be back by now to get ready, I decided to call her. I started to tab my foot thinking she is bailing after the fifth call. I thought to myself maybe her phones on siclent I'll call Becky, three rings before she picked up. "Hey b***h, I'm at work can't talk." My heart sank, Lacey lied? " Wait, where is Lacey." I asked. " Are you drunk this early Anne?" Becky asked laughing.  " No" I said softly . " Listen I'll call you later, I haven't seen Lacey today." Becky hung up. I sat there for about five minutes until I decided to walk out to get fresh air I sat there for about two hours waiting for Lacey and as soon as I decided to go inside she pulled up. I couldn't even think before I started screaming at her, and then I relaxed she was at the library. Lacey really isn't okay, her whole life was about her family. She seemed like such a happy person, but when living with her I realized how depressed she actually is. I stopped screaming I was hurt not only for her lie but for her being so consumed into her past. 

Lacey's pov

Anne stood there quietly, I wasn't even sure she heard me. "Anne did you hear me", I said annoyed. " I heard you." she said softly. Anne's eyes were watering, " I'm sorry Lacey, I'm sorry you don't have answers but your so smart and so beautiful, the best person I've ever met. I just wish you could see it and not let this consume you." I cut her off, " Anne listen, I found something." Her eyes widened and I knew that time she heard what I said. " What did you find?" I pulled out the picture and handed it to her. She looked at it lost, " Lacey, are you okay?"  I pointed and said " Look closer , I know what your going to say this could be an animals eyes, but Anne what if it isn't what if its my mom or dad?"  She stood there for about a minute before she spoke, " I don't want you to get to excited for this Lacey, but tomorrow we can go to this guy I know that's a tech, I'm sure he can make this clearer for us." I stopped her before she could finish and grabbed her for a huge hug, tears started streaming down my face and I felt my ears becoming hot. I had to many emotions, but most of all I was just happy she didn't call me crazy. Anne pulled me back and spoke, " But its time to wipe those tears babe and lets get ready for our dates, we have only an hour and half until the boys get here we will talk more tomorrow about this. Lacey I didn't know how much this meant, I'll do whatever I can to help you get some answers."  I smiled and wiped my tears, " Yes, anything thank you so much Anne, you have know idea how much this means to me". Tonight was the first time I felt like Anne actually cared about me and it felt great. Then the thought of what I was going to wear tonight rushed over me. 

  We ran up the stairs too Anne's room, she turned on No One by Alicia Keys, I smiled. She was throwing dresses down off the hangers left to right. Finally she pulled out a skinny silk black dress and threw it at me. "Try it on." This was completely out of my comfort zone, but after tonight I was going to do anything for  Anne after lying to her.  It fit perfect, looking in the mirror I brushed my blonde bangs out of my face, the dress made my boobs look twice as big and I looked extremely curvey. I put on two inch black heals and some clear lip gloss . Anne fixed her red long curls and put on a tight high waisted black skirt with a white half top that showed her sunflower tattoo on her stomach, with black boots that went to her knees. That girl could put on anything and look extremely good.  We stood in the mirror for about a minute, before Anne said " Damn girl, those boys won't be able to keep their eyes off us." I really hoped that's not the case. Just then the door bell rang, and Chad opened the door, "Hey babe, I'm here get your sexy ass down here." Anne took off down the stairs, I slowly began to follow her. Jakes face drew to me soon as I stepped foot on the stairs, as I was coming down I seen him give Chad a look. I knew then he had other plans then a simple date. 

Anne turned to Chad kissing his lips, thrusting her hips to his giggling, " So what's the plan tonight?" Chad grabbed ahold of her hips and grinned, "We brought food and drinks, thought we could stay here and hangout." Anne backed up, you could tell by her stance she wasn't happy, " You promised me a date." It's been six months and Chad hasn't went one place with Anne alone. It's always meeting her at the house at 2 am or at parties. He turned to completely face her and leaned to her ear, "Don't start your s**t, this is a date take it or leave it. Anne looked at me with an expression of sorry. Jake walked closer to the stair case, " Let's have fun I brought jenga", he winked at me before he walked into the living room and placed the beer and game on the table. I thought to myself maybe he isn't as bad as Chad. We spent hours playing jenga drinking beer ands stuffing are face with pizza. Tonight has actually be a great night, I was worried for nothing we all got to know each other, and I was actually beginning to like Jake. It was about 1 o'clock, Jake passed out drunk right next to the couch. It was just Chad and Anne cuddling on the love seat and me sitting on a chair in a daze.  " Alright guys I'm going to head to bed." I said trying to stand up but didn't have the energy to stand. I must of been more drunk then I thought. Chad and Anne started to laugh, " You're so wasted ", chad chucked. He looked down and seen Anne coming in and out.  " You girls don't drink much do you?" He smirked. I pushed my face up and said ," Look whos talking your best man is passed out on the floor with a jenga piece to his mouth". He smiled, " fair point, I'll help you to bed hey baby, I'll be right back I'm going to help Lacey to her room." Anne shook her head and laid it on the side of the love seat.

  Chad picked me up and started up the stairs, I started to think I misjudged Chad. He opened my door and placed me on my bed. I looked up at him and said, Thank you Chad." And before I could finish saying his name I seen he was closing my door with him still inside. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I said. He quickly placed his hand over my lips and said, "I couldn't keep my eyes off you tonight, and I know you want me." I tried moving but he held me down and got on top breathing on my neck. He started to rub between my thighs, my heart started to race and tears were streaming down my face. I started to whisper please stop, and just then he place his hand tighter on my lips so I couldn't speak. Chad began to unbutton his pants when I heard a voice in my head say "Lacey don't shut me out, listen your stronger than him, channel your feelings close your eyes and push, just PUSH". Man I was loosing it, I was too drunk to even think straight. I looked from the corner of my eyes, the door was open and Anne was standing there crying, "Get the f**k off her!" She screamed and she was stumbling to the bed. Chad turned and kicked Anne to the floor, "Shut the f**k up and lay there, your next b***h". Chad pulled his pants down, I felt his p***s on my thigh, I was helpless . "Lacey listen, push just push." A soft warming voice said again. I closed my eyes, and took a deep breathe and pushed with all my might,  Chads body flew off me and hit the wall, I sat up he was passed out with a huge hole in the wall behind him. I thought to myself how did I do that?  Anne stood up in shock and grabbed my hand rushing us both down stairs, she grabbed her keys and looked at me, " I'm so sorry Lacey but we got to go." I grabbed her keys from her hands, " I'll drive." I didn't even feel drunk no more, all the adrenaline sobered me up but Anne was still so wasted she couldn't drive.  We got in the car and I drove to the nearest hotel, we didn't even speak to each other the whole way there. We opened the hotel room and  climbed into bed together and just passed out.
