Chapter 3

1965 Words
I broke the silence when I wondered where everyone else was living, “Where does the rest of your pack sleep?” “They have their own homes, but the other bedrooms here are for when we see a threat to the whole pack, or when we have other pack leaders come over for a meeting that lasts a long time so they have a place to sleep. In fact, the pack leaders are supposed to be here in two weeks to see how I am doing with leading, but also to see how we are doing together,” he said a little anxious at the last part. I was a little unnerved about the information I just heard. How the hell am I to know about supernaturals in two weeks!?! I groaned and fell back on the bed. I felt Michael staring. “I can help you with getting to know about werewolves before the leaders come in two weeks. If you want?” he asked genuinely. “Hell yes! If I am going to be here for I don’t know how long and these so-called leaders want to meet me and you as a couple then I better learn everything there is to know about werewolves,” I said offering for him to sit on the bed next to me. I knew it was a bad idea to offer him to sit next to me with my bedroom door closed, but I wouldn’t think that anyone would think anything less. I felt him sit on the bed as the bed sank with his weight. “Can I start tomorrow morning? Before I introduce myself to your pack,” I said, turning to my side to face him. “Of course! But it’s not my pack… it’s our pack,” he said excitingly. “Does this me that you will be my girlfriend?” “Yes, but we take things slowly,” I said seriously, and I rose from my bed and went to my walk-in closet. “Did you sneak into my bedroom to find out what size clothes I wear?” “Would it be weird if I did?” he said guiltily. “Yes!” I said giving him a disgusted look. “In my defense, I had help with one of my pack-mates that were a girl to check your garment sizes and I didn’t ask what size they were. I swear,” he threw his arms up in surrender. “Well that doesn’t make it quite as creepy, but now I've weird ed out that some random girl knows what I wear underneath my clothes,” I said turning around and looking for pajamas. “If you're looking for pajamas they are in the very back on the top drawer,” he hollered to me. I went to the very back to where the shelves were and took out a random pair of pajamas on the top shelf. I saw a note and a rose lay on the dresser that wasn’t their moments earlier. I looked back to see that Michael had moved around the bedroom not noticing what I was doing. I looked back at the rose and the note. I opened the note to it saying: Dear Juniper,     I know hard it must be to leave your loved one and go with someone that is destined to be with, but I know that you will become stronger than they thought that you would amount to. I know how powerful you are Juniper and I will help guide you to the answer you so dearly need. Just know that you are more than all of us. I think that an angel created you or made you with someone that is just as powerful as an angel, which would be a chameleon.     My sweet Juniper, trust Michael about your family. Your brother will betray you because he was convinced by his father. Your mother knows this and is trying to get rid of both your brother and him. She misses you, but she is also glad that you left and is not planning on coming back.                                 One and Only,                                     Mystery I was shocked that this “Mystery” person knew about my family, Michael, and I. Maybe he was the one that warned me that danger was ahead of me? I may never know. I walked into the corner where I could get dressed without being seen. The pajamas were soft and they were designed with mechanical tools on them.  I walked out and Michael was on the computer on the opposite side of the room. He was looking at something like a school website.  I walked over behind him, “Why are you looking at my school?” “Seeing how active you are,” he said, giving me a grin. “I really didn’t do anything. I usually kept to myself. Although I did do yearbook and help update the pictures on the website,” I said honestly. “You took all of these?” he asked shocked. “Not all, but most,” I said, not getting all the credit. “Wow! You are a good photographer,” he said astonished. “Thanks, but I'm really not good at it. Plus, I have more skills in other things like fixing my car,” I said, as I sat back down on my bed. “Yeah, I saw you working on it one day. It looked like you knew exactly what you were doing,” he said, closing the site and turning the computer off to face me. “Because I did know what I was doing,” I said teasingly. “Finally! I see the funny side of you,” he said teasingly. “Hey! I have my moments, when I want to,” I said being accused, but also teasingly. “True,” he shrugged as he stood to move to sit right next to me. He fidgeted with his hands before he asked, “Can I ask you an extreme question?” “Sure,” I said slowly. “Can I lay with you till you fall asleep?” he looked at me with caution and awe in his eyes. “Till I fall asleep,” I said seriously. I was really hoping I wasn’t making the biggest mistake in my life. After a while of silence, I crawled into my comfy bed as Michael came next to me, but he respected my wishes and lay on top of the covers. He brushed my hair away from my face. I just stared into his eyes. I hesitated before I asked, “Why are your eyes red-amber?” “It is part of my alpha. Wolves have red eyes to show that they are the alpha of the pack. The amber is part of my heritage,” he said not shocked by my question. “Can I ask you a personal question?” he asked rubbing his thumb on the bottom of the jawline. “Yes.” “What happened to you and your last boyfriend?” “Well… umm… we dated for almost a year. We decided to have s*x, but when we did he broke up with me. I really thought he loved me, but all he wanted was to taint me and my reputation,” I said hesitantly. “Wow. That guy was a Schwanz Gehirn. I would never do that to you, or anyone in that matter,” he said, while his eyes glowed a burnt blue. I shocked me when his eyes changed color, but I had to wonder what Schwanz Gehirn meant. “What does Schwanz Gehirn mean?” I asked trying to copy how he said it, which amused him. “It means d**k brain in German. I had to start learning German when I started to shift,” he answered. “Wow!” “Yeah. If you want I can teach you?” he asked with amusement in his voice. “Yeah, but what about the school? Don't they teach that?” I asked curiously. “Well, it is a required class for only werewolves, which as you know now that you are more than that,” he said amusingly. “Oh… If I don’t know what I am and no one else knows what I am. Then what classes am I supposed to take?” “We will have to find out when it comes to that point. Won’t we?” he said, crashing his head into the pillow as he pulled me into his arms. “Do you think that the pack will accept me?” I asked worryingly. “They will, but right now you are a stranger that is connected to me. They can’t place you as an enemy or ally yet, but know that there's a reason that brought you here,” he said,  taking a deep breath in. We didn’t talk, but I dozed off of the smell of honey and rain, which I was betting that it was Michael. I finally was asleep but could feel that Michael was leaving as he promised. It made me smile. I didn’t dream that night, but I could hear a heartbeat and a whisper saying The soul is more pure to either dark or light and you have both. Choose wisely, but keep your soulmate close, but not close that he is affected by your soul. The heartfelt like it snapped and it made me jump out of bed. My breathing was deep and fast. I couldn’t tell where I was at first, but then I noticed I was back in my new room; alone. I crashed back into the pillows and stared at the ceiling. I slowed my breathing then looked at the digital clock on my nightstand, which was only three o’clock in the morning. Just great!  I crawled out of bed to find the bathroom to get my teeth brushed. I slowly opened my door to find the hallway dark and silent. I closed the door behind me quietly, but not before I heard someone getting out of bed.  “s**t!” I whispered. I started walking down the hallway when I heard a door ajar. I looked behind me to see that Michael looking down at me; his eyes glowed red. I stopped in my tracks waiting for him to walk up to me. “What are you doing up so early?” he whispered, as he finally got close enough to me, that I started walking. “Trying to find the bathroom to brush my teeth,” I said, noticing my bed hair. I combed it with my hands, “Sorry if I woke you up.” “You didn’t,” he said. “The bathroom is the last door to the right.” “Thanks,” I said smiling and hurrying a little more. As soon as I got to the bathroom I closed the door and turned on the light. My face looked ghost white, my hair looked smashed all together on one side and long and tangled on the other. “Wow! That’s the first,” I said to myself. I saw a brush that was still in its case as well as a toothbrush and toothpaste. I brushed my hair and pulled it back so it wouldn’t get in the way of me brushing my teeth.  After I was done I walked out only to run into a girl. “Oh, I am sorry. I didn’t see you there,” I said, stepping out of the doorway. “It’s fine,” she said sternly. “I’m Juniper by the way,” I said politely. “Yeah, my brother’s soulmate. I know. I’m Emilia, but you can call me Em,” she said, giving me a genuine smile. “Ok Em, well I’ll see you later I hope,” I said, waving her goodbye and walking back down to my room. I heard Em say something under her breath, “Huh, I thought she would be more of a bitch.” I took that as a compliment, but I hoped that the pack didn’t think of me that way. I finally got to my bedroom door to see that Michael was slumped up against his own ajar door. “Finally met my sister Emilia… She can be quite strong-minded about someone she hasn’t met, but she doesn’t judge,” he said in a low voice. “Yeah, I can tell. She seems really nice though. I guess a lot of people call her Em,” I said, leaning toward my own closed door. “Do you want me to come on a morning run with you?” he asked changing the subject. “I don’t even want to ask how you know that…, but sure. I’ve been wanting a little company on my runs for a while now,” I said honestly. “Ok, well I’ll get changed,” he said, going back into his own room and closing it behind him.
