Rugal gave me a kiss as he walked around to the door, holding me close and savoring the taste of my lips. When he walked away, Leyla grabbed my hand and held it. I hadn't realized how nervous I was about meeting a new person until this moment. I tried to breathe deep, squeezing Leyla's hand for comfort and calming myself before Rugal came back into the room trailed by my new guard.
"I figured you would prefer a woman and someone who is more fitness minded, so I chose one of our best women warriors. She can kick the asses of pretty much everyone in the pack other than myself and Leyla." The corners of his eyes crinkled and his lips twitched in amusement as he said this.
