22 The grinding sound was overpowering even before the gateway came into view. The ceiling of the tunnel sloped upward to reach the top of a high arch. Sparkling silver bars covered the opening, obscuring my view of the moving things beyond. “There really isn’t much I can tell you about this.” Eric squinted through the shining bars. “Keep up, don’t touch anything, don’t get crushed.
