17 Before I had time to scream we had passed through a chunk of black and were falling onto a squishy floor. Metal netting and thick bars obscured our view of the room outside. But the crowd in the steam punk dining room seemed to be totally calm as a monster walked through the rows of tables, holding a tray of display deserts. “I almost fell on my sword,” Devon panted, pushing himself to his feet, clasping a silver cylinder in his hand. “I almost killed myself with my light saber.” With a flick of his wrist, the red blade sprouted from the silver tube, blossoming to magical life complete with a low hum. “Thank God they went for geek accuracy.” “We need to go.
