29 It took an hour for Lola’s magic smoothie to make me feel more like I’d had the flu and less like I was literally going to die. Lola wrapped the burns on Elizabeth’s hands and put some stinging goop on the burn the bone tassel had left on me. Then she put some cream on the hand-shaped bruise around Devon’s neck. By the time she was done patching our sorry asses up, the whole restaurant smelled like a weird combination of juice bar and antiseptic.
