23 I’m not proud of the amount of drool that coated my hand when I woke up a few hours later. I am, however, super grateful that by some miracle my drool hadn’t made it into Elizabeth’s hair. I lay in bed for a minute, curled up as Elizabeth’s big spoon, trying to figure out a way to get the drool off my hand without waking her up, before I started wondering what had woken me up. Blinking my gritty eyes, I looked toward the door, saw a shadow hovering over me, and freaked the hell out. “s**t!” I tried to spring to my feet to defend myself, but I was caught in the blankets, so I tumbled face first to the ground as Elizabeth shouted, “What?” “Shadow!” I yelped, trying to wriggle free from the sheets.
