Chapter 2The gallery was one of the most popular in the city, it’s downtown location key for passersby and the city-elite alike. Open ceilings painted black, and metal elements gave an industrial feel, and the sharp white walls made the artistic works jump from their canvases. Melissa went to grab their drinks. Maura scanned the crowd and immediately spotted her old friend. Marcelle Marceau had been a model in France in the ‘70s. The child was the daughter of Marcelle’s two very good friends who had perished in a freak restaurant fire. Maura had first met Marcelle at a charity ball raising money for mountain gorilla habitats in Rwanda.
