Chapter 5: The Friend

1599 Words
“So, what brought you here?” Celine asked Lucia as she was popping some fries into her mouth. Lucia looked at the goons that were attacking her earlier before they were being sent to the infirmary. “Well, I have something in my head that Dr. Sean Copper was trying to understand,” She said as she was popping some fries as well into her mouth. Now that the intervention was gone, she can finally enjoy her time alone. With a new friend that she made, Celine, of course. “What about you?” Lucia asked Celine before the redhead was smirking at her. “Well, I was having some issue up there as well,” Celine said as she tapped her temple. Lucia nodded at her. Now, I wanted to know if Sean treated her as well, she mused before she shook her head away. Where did that thought come from? Not that I wanted to know about Sean's life or anything, Lucia reminded herself before she was smiling at Celine. “Who’s the doctor that treats you?” Lucia asked as Celine was looking at her. Her forehead was wrinkling as if she was trying to remember the name. “I don’t remember,” she said honestly as Lucia can see it on her face. Relief left her body as she was wondering if Sean was double-timing treating her and other patients. Wait, why was I concerned if he had anyone else or not? Lucia thought before she was smiling at the redhead before she was taking a bite of her hamburger. “Okay, so what we did back there was legal right? I mean we were self-defencing ourselves,” Celine said as she was chomping down on the apple. Lucia nodded at her before she was wiping her mouth with a napkin. “Totally,” Lucia said before they looked at the warden that was watching them like a hawk. She was being stupid and paranoia was not on her list. I need to get tough, Lucia thought so she rolled her eyes at him before she told Celine to get the f**k out of here. And so, they picked up their trays and put them at their places before the both of them got out of the cafeteria. As they walked down the long hallway, with a guard on their every side, Lucia was breaking the ice with the redhead. “So, any chance I might know who is your doctor?” She said as they were walking to their designated rooms. “Well, I’ve just arrived yesterday and they did not assign me yet. So, maybe after the succession with your case, maybe I will get one,” she said happily. So, I was a nut case after all, and an experiment to see if Sean’s method was a success, Lucia mused before she nodded at Celine before Lucia went to the door and the guard was waiting for her to take her to her prison. “Well, it was nice meeting you, Celine,” “And you, Lucia. Hope we will see each other again,” she said before her guard took her away. Lucia followed her guard down another hallway as she was so lost in thoughts that Lucia did not hear the guard has closed the door behind her. She was back in her room but she did not notice there was another person in her prison until he spoke in the darkness. “I see that you were contemplating in your thoughts, my dear,” the familiar voice and that scent of his were filling her nose. Lucia smirked as she knows that he would come here, sooner or later. She would not think it would be sooner. Maybe my charm was still there, driving Sean Copper insane with needs and desire, Lucia mused before she was looking at the silhouette in the darkness before she rolled her eyes. “Well, look who decided to show up unannounced,” Lucia said as she turned to look at Sean. He was drinking some tea that he had brought with him while he was waiting for her. If people did not know, this guy was English at its core. “So, is this an official visit or just one of your social calls?” Lucia asked as she was gritting her teeth. Not that Lucia was hungry or anything but rather annoyed that she was being intruded by him in her space. And the only space that she can be herself was only her prison room. “Social calls? If I wanted s*x, I would have called someone else, I would rather kill myself than lay with you, Lucia,” Sean said as he was staring at her. Lucia scoffed at him before she shook her head. “Well, that’s a first for you to say no to me,” She said as she went to plop herself on the bed. Lucia was looking at Sean and smiled before he put down his tea on the table. “I am here to fulfill my duty to our deal,” Sean said as he was looking at her before he crossed his knees. So much for being Englishman at its best, Lucia thought before she arched her eyebrow at Sean. “Well, why would you be interested in that now?” Lucia asked him as she was looking at him, trying to figure out his angle but she thinks she was being overthought again. Sean chuckled. “Well, we both know the implication of the drug in your body. You constantly need s*x. Or if I was being bold, you craved them,” he said as he was looking at her with those grey eyes. They were haunting as Lucia was trying to calm her nerves around him. Do not show your weakness to him, Lucia, she mused before she was crossing her hands in front of her chest. “Well, I am tired so I would not wish to be in that action right now,” Lucia said as she was waiting for him to go. He did not stir in his seat. “Well, perhaps if I help you—“ “No, that would be unnecessary. I want to be alone, so please be a gentleman and let me rest in peace,” Lucia said as she turned her back on him. Sean was quiet for a moment before he stood up from the seat as it creaked against the floor. “Very well, Ms. Ricci,” his professional self was here now. Lucia breathed in as she knows how much she hated it when people were being formal to her. “Have a good rest then,” Sean said as he went to the door before it closed behind him. “And you too as well, Sean,” Lucia said before a tear was sliding down her face and she doesn't even realize that she was crying. ***** Dinner last night was great, I get to make new friendships as I was trying to search for tables, Celine thought when she was stepping into her room/cell. It turned out that she was meeting the notorious scientist, Lucia Ricci. Celine knows her, ever since she discovered the drug that can help us to be stronger and powerful. She was my role model, Celine said before she heard something. “Ms. Lebrun?” Celine jerked in her cell as she turned to look at the violet eyes that were staring at her. Celine doesn't even know that human eyes can be so beautiful. I never have seen anything like it before, she mused before she was blinking her eyes at the man that was in front of her cell. “Yes?” Celine asked as she was trying to figure out this man who was standing in front of her, in her cell no less. “Hi, I will be your assigned doctor for your treatment. My name is Simone Laverte. I just wanted to say hi to you before we start your treatment tomorrow,” he said as he was smiling at her, his violet eyes were wrinkling at the end. “Laverte, isn’t that French surname? Are you French, Simone?” Celine asked as she stepped forward to the bars that were separating her and him. Simone chuckled at her question as he shook his head. “No, I’m afraid only my lineage was French. But I was born and raised in Welsh, UK, ma’am,” he said as he was looking at Celine. She curled her fingers around the bar as Celine was staring at him while smirking. “Well, that’s unfortunate. But I like it the fact that you still think that you have French bloodline in you,” She purred as Celine saw his face was red right now. Simone cleared his throat before he turned to leave her alone again. “Right, well, I see you tomorrow then,” Simone said as he was trying to leave. “Please don’t go yet. Why don’t we get to know each other? It will help you to understand me better than afterward,” Celine said as she was hoping that Simone would take the bait. If I can get him under my spell and allure, maybe he will do my bidding just how I wanted it to be, Celine mused as she was smiling at her doctor. Call her selfish but Celine doesn't think this young man will succumb easily to her. She smiled at that thought. “Sorry, I have other works that were keeping me from staying here with you. As much as I wanted to know you better, ma’am—“ “Celine,” Celine said as she was looking at Simone. He looked at her confused. “Please, call me Celine. I hate it when people call me ma’am. It sounds like I am old then you but we might be the same age, right?” Celine said as she looked at him. Simone blushed again as his pale complexion was red and his eyes were shifted away from her body. “Well, if you like,” the young doctor mumbled. “Then, can I call you Simone as well?” Celine said as she was batting her eyelashes at him.
