*Beginning of July 2000, Cholula, Puebla, Mexico*
Over a one-month-old little Mexican girl rolls on the carpet. She notices her godmother's bodyguard and smiles to her.
- Hi, kid - red-haired girl says lying down opposite her.
The girl rolls again and red-haired does the same thing. A girl squeals delighted and stretches out her hands. Red-haired picks her up and lays on her lap. Kid starts to play with her watch.
- What are you doing, huh? - red-haired asks.
The girl still plays with her watch.
- It's a watch. Just a watch - red-haired explains - what do you want from this?
Little Latina removes her watch from her hand.
- Hey, Jess. Don't play like that - red-haired warns her - I don't touch your toys.
She fastens her watch. Jess smiles.
- Don't make such a face, okay? You aren't allowed to touch someone else's things - red-haired explains - okay?
Jess smiles to her and chuckles. Red-haired tickles her and Jess laughs.
- Mommy! - she called.
- Kacey, stop with this. Give me Jess - Kacey's boss and Jess's godmother, Billie asks.
- Okay - Kacey says and stands up.
She gives her Jess in her arms. Jess catches a button of Billie's shirt and plays with it.
- You're so cute, you know that? - Billie asks.
- She's the cutest kid I've ever seen - Kacey admits.
- Even than mine? - Sebastian, Billie's younger brother, asks.
- Yup - Kacey says.
- She can't be so much sweet - Sebastian says.
- Better look at her - Kacey says.
- I don't understand how Andrei can enduring with you - Sebastian admits - you're mean.
- Sebastian - Billie warns him and hits him in the side with her elbow.
Kacey become sad and plays with Jess's hand.
- Manuela, Jess should probably go to bed, right? - Billie makes sure.
- Yeah. I was about to start putting her to sleep - Manuela, Jess's mom, says.
- Kacey can do that - Billie says - yes Kacey?
- What? Yeah, yes. Sure - Kacey says and picks Jess up.
She goes with her to the next room.
- Sebastian, you have no sense to her. I explained you many times - Billie says - you have to have a sense for her.
- I try - Sebastian defends himself - but life with growing up teenager is hard.
- It's interesting what you said when Nicole will be in that age - Rafael, Jess's dad, wonders.
- For sure, she won't be like Kacey - Sebastian provides.
- You don't know that - Manuela says - equally good, she will be worse than Kacey now.
- I don't let for it - Sebastian says - that would still be missing, a teenager with worse character than Kacey now. Or my sister.
Suddenly, he gets hit in the head.
- Ouch - he says.
- Be careful what you say - Billie warns him.
*Few whiles later*
Kacey sits next to Jess's cradle. Billie enters the room.
- Kacey, say goodbye to Jess. We have to go - she says.
- Okay - Kacey says.
She kisses Jess in her hand and lays.
- I regret I don't remember if my mom did that every time I was going to sleep - she says.
- You always said your mom always loved you very much. For sure, she always sat next to you and observed you when you slept - Billie says.
- I always thought if I was polite and obedient to my dad, he would be the same as mom - Kacey says - I was always wrong. We were scared, but only I managed to escape from him.
- Your mom is very proud of you and where are you now, I'm sure - Billie says - come on, we have to go.
Kacey stands up and leaves a room, right after Billie. She gets in the car with her and Sebastian and all three depart.
