CORINNE's POV “Well, I have mine also. I am the rightful owner of this apartment, and I hereby present my key also! This is my apartment!” I told him, jingling my key towards him. “What!!?” He exclaimed, surprised, finding it so hard to believe the scene unfolding before him. “This should be enough proof to back innocent me up.” I said, smiling sheepishly. “I still don't believe you.. Nonono.. not even believe it, you are a bloody liar, young lady!!” The guy screamed at me instantly, before he slightly pushed me away from the door. I was trying to stop him from unlocking the door but he was obviously stronger. Tall and broad shrouded, just like a wrestler. Before I could stand on my feet, I heard the door creaking open but no way was I going to allow this scumbag to get away with it, trying to steal my apartment? “No way!!!” I screamed, pushing him out of the way, his ass landed on the bare ground. I almost gasped, but my eyes remained fixed and straight like nothing happened. “No way!! I just proved to you that I own the apartment, it's mine!!” I half-screamed but he laughed hysterically instead, leaving me in a state of confusion. “What's funny?” I asked, staring at him, but he was trying so hard to stand on his feet which I had to stretch my hand to help him up. “Now, get out of my way!!” He said, loud but calm. “Hey, mister! I think I'm being too nice to you! You should get out of my way! I'm the rightful owner of this apartment! What other evidence do I need to provide so you could believe me? Huh?” I asked, still jingling the key at him. “Take a look at you! Do you need a mirror, so you could see how a bloody liar is being inscribed on your forehead? You this runaway bride!!” He said and scoffed before he fully opened the door. The runaway bride really got me, I was left dumfounded and pained but I still had to maintain my composure. No way I was going to allow this guy to outsmart me. Just as I was about to shout at his face again, the neighbor's voice blew out again, just like a balloon but more loud this time. He turned his gaze at me and hissed, before walking into the apartment. I used the only opportunity to take my belongings I dropped earlier and ran inside, limping behind him. “So, what do we do?” I asked, scanning my eyes around the apartment. “We? Did you just use that plural? What are we? Find a way to sort yourself out, young lady and get out before I…” He couldn't finish his words when we heard the bell ring. I turned my gaze at the door, which he did also. Our eyes accidentally met but I turned my gaze back at the door. “Get the person in, you are nearest to the door.” He said, trying to unbutton his shirt. “What? I should go get the person at the door? Can you hear yourself at all? Go get the door, guy!” I blurted, twirling my eyes at him. He shook his head and walked towards the door before opening it. A woman in her old-forties entered and closed the door behind her. “I'm so sorry, Mr Rhodes and…??” The woman asked, pointing her finger at me. “Cor..” I was about to speak but got interrupted by this guy!! “Call me Andy, not Mr Rhodes.” He corrected the woman, and returned his gaze to his suit. “You could have just corrected her later, instead of interrupting me like a fool!” I said and twirled my eyes at him again before returning my gaze at the woman. “I am Corinne and you are?” I asked the woman, who took in her breath and released it immediately before speaking. “You must have met my husband, I mean the building manager. I am his wife.” The woman introduced me and I nodded affirmatively. “I'm simply here to resolve the misunderstanding between you and Mr.Andy.” She spoke again and brought out a white file from her handbag. “I'm happy to announce to you that the misunderstanding which leads to a building chaos between you two can actually be resolved by you both.” The woman said, her eyes fixed on us both. “Both of us?” We simply asked simultaneously. I exchanged a deadly glance with him before returning my gaze at the woman. “Yes, it can be resolved by you both, only if you can cooperate” The woman spoke again and cleared her throat. “The apartment is actually accidentally double-leased and…” The woman tried to talk further, but Andy cut in aggressively. “What? What? Double-leased? My apartment ?Do you know I've actually been staying here for the past three months and you're saying this?” Andy asked, his expression wild and his lips unsmiling. “I'm so sorry about any inconvenience it might have occurred, Mr.Andy but you have no other choice than to accept Ms.Corinne as your roommate” The woman said, returning the file into her handbag. “Roommate?” We both asked again, simultaneously. “Is there any available unit?” I asked, biting on my lower lips nervously. Monica never told me I'd have a roommate and of all people, this scumbag??! I thought. “Unfortunately, there is no available unit, Ms.Corinne” The woman replied and turned to leave but I stopped her. “What if I double the payment?!!” I blurted out from nowhere, smiling endlessly. I could see Andy's jaw dropped. Yes, he wasn't expecting that. I was not even comfortable having a roommate, let alone him?!! “Sure, you can double the payment, Ms.Corinne. The apartment will be all yours.” The woman said, smiling. I bought out my card carefully and hypocritically smiled at Andy who was already fuming . “You can deduct it, Ma'am.” I ordered, still smiling before curling my hair at the back of my ear. “This card is no longer valid, Ms.Corinne.” The woman said, stretching the card back at me. “What? When? How?!” I half yelled, staring at the card. “How come? It's his handwork! He is evil!” I shouted, pointing at Andy who smirked instead. “Seems your game is over!” He said and
