Chapter 3

CORINNE’s POV “Seems your game is over.” Andy said and hissed, before returning his gaze to the landlady. I stared at him in total resentment and irritation. I wished I could just pounce on him and teach him the unforgettable lesson of his life but he was huge. I knew I just had to do everything in my power to stay at this apartment, even with him. Half bread is still better than none. “Mrs, what do you suggest we do?” I asked the landlady, whose gaze went to Andy straightaway. “Suggestion? What other suggestion do you have other than taking your things and leave my f*****g apartment.” Andy uttered, finally done with his suit. I was about to speak when the landlady interfered and talked again. “We are so sorry for any inconveniences this might have caused you, Ms.Corinne but Me.Andy applied first and…” “And I'm not the rightful owner of this apartment too? After making payment?” I asked, interrupting her halfway. “I have said it before and I'm saying it again, the only way you both can have this apartment is to live as Roommate and if any of you can't condone such, you can count me out of this fuss, if not, I'll call the security on you both.” The landlady said her tone was more serious this time. “You'll call the security on us? Do you realize I paid also? If Andy here applied first, then why the f**k did your husband signed the same apartment room!! Is he broke? Who knows if he did this intentionally?!” I said and rolled my eyes at the woman who banged the door angrily. “Enough! I think this has been resolved and I've been accommodative enough. If you both can't live as a roommate, then suit yourselves.” The Woman said harshly and carried her handbag in a more comfortable way before heading out. I just needed to say something so this scum would allow me to stay with him but with the way things were, I didn't think he was even ready to allow me to stay as his roommate. “Wait, Mrs.Landlady!!” I ordered in a helping way which literally worked. She stopped halfway, giving me the “what's it again?” look before walking closer to me. “What is it, Ms.Corrine?” She asked, her facial expression blank but her words harsh. “We.. I mean, Andy and I can actually settle this amicably but we need you to interfere in this. I feel it'd only be right if you listen to what I'm about to say.” I said, my eyes searching for Andy who was just seated on the couch, his arms wrapped together, dangerously staring at me. “And what's that, Ms.Corinne?” The landlady asked, relaxed a little bit now, but still cautious. “Andy here, he had been nothing, but a fake human! Fake man! Everything about him is fake!!” I lamented, forcing myself as tears dropped down my eyes. I could see the Landlady's reaction, likewise Andy. He stood gallantly immediately, while the landlady dropped her bag and moved closer to me. “What's wrong,Ms.Corinne?” The landlady asked, politely giving me a hand by placing my head on her shoulder. I felt I was winning already, I just needed to put more effort so everything wouldn't be futile. “Hey, young lady! What do you mean by fake?” Andy spoke, walking towards me. “Young lady? Is that how you refer to your fiance that you left at the altar? After everything Andy?? After everything we've been through??!! You chose to run away??!” I screamed, as tears started dropping like drip. “What?? What?!” Andy and the landlady both exclaimed together. “F..fiance? What Fiance? What are you plotting again, Corinne? I've had enough today! You've shown enough drama. So, please let me breathe and leave this apartment.” Andy said, finding it so hard to breathe. “Are you really going to deny me? Denying the fact that you left me at the altar while my families were expecting you? You turned me into an object of mockery amongst my friends and now you are denying the landlady's presence?” I asked, after summoning enough courage to look straight into his eyes. “Mr.Andy, I'm highly disappointed in you. Why would you fight over this apartment with your fiance?? Your wife to be!! And you made us go through all this?” The landlady asked and hissed, before comforting me again. “I can see what you are trying to do! Your selfish act still hasn't left you! You want to steal our so-called home for your own gain? You wicked manipulative man!!” I lamented, wailing again as the Landlady kept comforting me. “All this is nothing but a made up lie!!! I don't know her! I've never met. This is my first time seeing someone this crazy and obstinate. Leave my apartment and go find yours!!! I'm not sharing my apartment with you if that's your motive! Lie all you want, I care less. Just leave!!” Andy screamed, his words hanging in the air like glue. “Are you battling with amnesia? Do you forget things that easily? You wicked man! You left me at the altar! You ran away! You could have just said you wouldn't marry me, instead of going back and forth for the wedding ceremony. And you thought you could get away with it! No way! I knew you had this place discreetly, so I followed you. Here we are. I'm going nowhere.” I said, I could see his eyes. He was already pissed enough by words which made him grit his teeth in anger. “I do not know you, young lady. I don't know you! I'm a bachelor!!” Andy said, walking towards the landlady and I. “Do.. don't touch me!! Do not touch me, Andy!! Do you want to hurt our baby? Do you??!!” I screamed, crying all over again. “What?? Baby?” The landlady asked shockingly. “What are you saying? What baby? Which baby” Andy asked, pulling me away from the Landlady's arm and dragging me to his side. “I am pregnant, Andy! And it's for you! Our baby!” I exclaimed as I increased the weight of my tears
