CORINNE's POV “Pregnant? What… What nonsense are you spouting? Are you mentally okay?” Andy asked, still checking me out, after feeling my temperature with his palm. I felt a wave of frustration and desperation wash over me as I stood in front of him, he looked perplexed, confused and embarrassed. He wasn't even able to compose an accurate sentence. “Are you? Who.. I.. I don't even know you!” He said, stammering still holding onto me like a debtor. “Denying my existence wouldn't do you any good, Andy. One, you left me at the altar. Now, you are denying my existence and our baby?!! Are you for real, Andy?” I asked again, my eyes fixed on him, while his eyes were fixed on the bare floor. “I.. just.. I just can't figure out how everything suddenly happened… Were you sent to me to manipulate me? Right now, I must commend you, but just stop all these! It's casted! I don't know you and this is my first time seeing such a manipulative crazy lady.” Andy said and let go of me before turning to leave but the landlady's words stopped him from walking further. “Since you both are a couple and you are not ready to admit knowing Ms.Corinne, I'll gladly excuse both to settle this amicably and if I hear any more noise from here, I wouldn't hesitate to call the security on you both. Thank you.” The landlady announced and walked out instantly. I watched as she closed the door behind her till her shadow faded before returning my gaze to the flabbergasted Andy whose lips were still left curled, unable to say anything. “We need to talk.” He said curtly and entered the first room, before jamming the door aggressively “We need to talk and you entered your room? When you are ready to talk, let me know!!!” I screamed a little, so he could hear me. I could hear footsteps where I was sitting, I knew he was the one but I wasn't just ready to interlock stares with him. The silence that prevailed between us was really awkward. He wasn't ready to start the conversation, likewise me. I was sincerely ready to apologize for my misconduct but I just couldn't look him in his eyes. “After the chaos you caused, you suddenly became mute? Are you now deaf?” I heard him ask, couldn't see his facial expression because looking at him right now was a terrible job. “Are you deaf?? We need to talk, Corinne “ He spoke again as he stood from his couch and moved to mine, before sitting side by side with me. I almost gasped but I just had to maintain my composure which I was already losing. “Who are you? What do you want from me?” I heard him ask but I still couldn't look him in his eyes. “With the look of things, most especially your terrible dressing, are you really a runaway bride? Where is your groom?” He asked, and I could hear him giggle loudly. “If you know you'll remain mute, kindly and carefully leave this apartment now!” He commanded and turned to stand, but I stopped him with my hand. “I'm sorry.” I blurted out of nowhere, my eyes fixed on the ground. “I'm sorry I caused all these. I'm sorry I brought all these upon you. It wasn't my intention to do that. I'm sorry, Andy.” I blurted out again, my eyes still fixed on the ground but his horrible laughter had me rolling. “What's that for? Is it worth laughing at?” I asked, my expression tense, my words harsh but calm. “Everything! Everything about you is worth laughing at. Your hair, your dress, your words, even yourself, Corinne. Have you seen you? Have you seen how you look?” He asked, and I couldn't have needed anything urgent than a mirror right now. “Are you seriously making a joke of this?” I asked, my expression lame and my lips unsmiling. “Tell me why you put up with all this act, tell me why you decided to manipulate me in such an embarrassing way and tell me why you chose me of all people?” Andy asked, his tone serious, but his voice, eminent. I felt like I was given another chance in this world to prove myself right. How come I was just seeing how calm, soothing and handsome he looked? I wouldn't blame me, when all I was doing was lying and screaming at him. I was too busy to notice such qualities in him. I was so lost in his full blown handsomeness not until he spoke again. “Can you hear me at all? Corinne?” He called and tapped my shoulder before I brought myself out of my reverie. “Ohh, yesyes.. what were you saying?” I asked him, and all I could get in return was his mouth wide agape. “I asked why you chose to set me up. Why???” He asked again, more serious and harsh this time. “I've always been the black sheep in my nuclear family. My parents, most especially my father, thought of nothing fruitful but concluded that marriage could be the only thing he'd enjoy as my father. He sold me out to a complete stranger to monetize his company. Being the black sheep of the family had never been easy but I had no choice. All I had was to run away which I did and here I am, stuck with you.” I narrated and sighed deeply before placing my head on the edge of the couch. “What? If I could summarize this in an understanding way, you were pushed into an arranged marriage??” Andy asked and I nodded in confirmation. “What??? All these? I'm so sorry, Corinne. I'm sorry. You could have just told me everything…” “You wouldn't even give me breathing space, let alone telling you my predicament.” I interrupted him, before rolling my eyes at him. “I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to be like that. That's so wicked of him.” He commented and pulled me into his arms. I almost fell from the couch. Did he just pull me into a hug? The same Crazy Andy? Really? Wow!...
