God's Time is The Best

I was asked that question by a friend out of sincere curiosity and to get my opinion on the ideology. It turned out to be a very interesting period of back and fort and elaboration on concepts and dynamics. My response The idea of God’s time is the best, in my opinion, is a conjecture. People use it as an opportunity to help you hold up and persevere on your pursuit. And that’s not bad and should not be discouraged especially for folks who believe in God and are working hard to arrive at a destination. Beyond that though, we should understand that all common sayings are rooted in a system. A system that seeks to engineer our mind in a given direction under anticipated conditions. As I was saying that, a friend called my awareness to the fact that people actually bear that as a name as well. He specifically mentioned Ogechukwu as literarily meaning “God’s time is the best”. That did one thing; confirmed my idea that some things are systemic. And more often than not those things are engineered to see human being take a course of action under foreseen circumstances. That said, I expounded that in the real sense, there might not be a God’s time. Now here’s what I mean by that. The Bible says, sow in the morning, at noon, at night and all the time for you do not know that which will grow to reward you (paraphrase of Ecclesiastes 11:6). If there was a God’s time, why not give an instruction like “sow at 1:45 pm and you get 100 fold reward”. Well, you will never find a condition like that. There was a moment of hmmm. But my point to my friend was to drive home a point about ideologies society implant on us subconsciously or consciously. Now the ideologies that society confer on us are not necessarily evil. If anything, they are a mixture of all things within the range of good and bad. Like this, I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily bad, it tends towards more good than harm. It will be on the side of the bad if such ideology condones mediocrity, laxity and lethargy. If it allows you to fold your arms and wait for a time which is God’s time to come and the all-time longed-for thing happened or got bestowed on you. Such should be disregarded ASAP. But a God’s time is the best that helps you persevere is a worthy ideology to hold on to. I concluded with my friend by bringing in the story of Abraham in the Bible. Since he is a man that can serve as a good reference point for the ideology of God’s time is the best. Abraham experimented (made efforts) I told my friend. While God’s time may be the best, the man went in with Hagar, thinking maybe that is how to arrive at God’s time. When that didn’t work, he continued to have s*x with his wife as often as his strength can carry him I believe. Now, in the end, it does happen as though God’s time is the best, but there is more to that than waiting on a time… He sowed at all times. In the morning, he sowed, in rain, he sowed, in sunshine, he sowed. Simply put, he made efforts by experimentation. To conclude on this point, therefore, I will say any idea of God’s time is the best that takes the responsibility of sowing/experimenting out of your hand is a questionable God’s time is the best. And my best bet is that such God’s time may never come.
