Next session was a session on legislative ethics. Michael had been through plenty of these presentations as a lobbyist, he was on a first-name basis with all the employees of the Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission. He looked around at all the other new senators: many of them were taking furious notes, some of them seemed pretty confused about the requirements they had to avoid a conflict of interest.
“So you’re saying the Farm Bureau can’t pay me to do any work in their lobbying department as long as I’m a Senator?” asked a portly western Nebraskan, wearing a cowboy hat.
