Michael walked into his office. “So,” Brett asked him, poking his head up and leaning back in his chair, “how’d it go?” “Cantor tried to play hardball,” Michael said, “but he’s not going to put forth the bill.” “Well looks like you did your job then,” Brett said, getting back to his computer. “Good news,” Dane said, looking up from his computer, “we got your committee assignments.” Michael rushed over to Dane’s computer. “Where are they?” Michael asked him. “I didn’t want to open them without you here,” Dane said with a smile as he pulled up the email, “And the assignments are…Agriculture and General Affairs.” Michael stared at the computer for a second, standing up with his hands on Dane’s desk. “Agriculture and General Affairs?
