Chapter 20: forgiveness is key

"Kade what the f**k?" I let out an  animalistic growl as I walk into his office. There sat on his lap is a tall stick thin girl with her arms wrapped around his neck, trying very hard to kiss him. Her tight skirt couldn't be much smaller without putting her fully on display and she's tried desperately hard to push up what little cleavage she she has.I grimace as her sickly sweet perfume hits my nose.

'Kill the b***h' Saphire growls fighting for dominance. 

"Jasmine, I-"

"Excuse me little miss piggy, you're interrupting us" the girl pouts her painted lips at me, moving a hand down Kade's chest.

That's it.

Stalking towards her, I rip her skinny frame off of him and drag her to the door, throwing her out effortlessly, rage consuming me as I watch her squirm on the floor.

"If you ever touch my mate again I will not be so kind to you, am I clear?" I snarl, authority rolling off me with every word.

"Y-yes Luna" She scampers off.

A pair of large hands sneak around my waist but I instantly shake them off, turning to face Kade.

"Who the f**k was that?"

"She's just a girl I used to date. Her name's Molly, she's no one. You know, you're hot when you're jealous" he leans down to kiss me but I turn my cheek, pushing him away.

"Are you f*****g kidding me? I just walked in on your ex who I just found out about straddling you and all you can say is 'You're hot when you're jealous?' What the f**k Kade!"

"Why are you getting so upset about this? She means nothing to me it's not a big deal." This motherfucker.

"Not a big deal? How would you feel if you walked in on me straddling some guy I used to date in barely any clothes? Would that be a 'big deal?'"

His eyes darken like I've never seen before. They're jet black as a haunting growl rips through him shaking me to the bone. "Which guy" he growls 

"This is a f*****g joke." I gasp in exasperation.

"WHICH GUY." I just stand there shocked he would even talk to me like that.

"Kade I'm a virgin." His eyes clear immediately and his face softens. I move away when he steps towards me and I turn to the door, running out as the tears I'd been trying so hard to hold back spill down my face.

-KADE POV-

Ah f**k. I messed up big time. 

Molly came in despite my protests and I was trying to throw her off me when Jasmine walked in but I can see why she would have seen it as something else. But honestly the thought of any woman, in particular Molly disgusts me now I've found my little one. Molly was a fling when I was weak and since I broke it off she has been trying desperately to seduce me. She's kind of psychotic if I'm being honest but hopefully now she's seen how powerful my beautiful mate is she'll back off.

Jasmine is so beautiful it hadn't crossed my mind she's a virgin considering she must have been lusted after by every man she met. But I shouldn't have assumed. God I'm such a bad mate!

I follow her scent out the office down the stairs to her old room, knocking lightly before I come in and my heart breaks. She's sat in the corner of the room with her head in between her knees. I walk over slowly, sliding down to sit next to her and I try to prise her hands away from her head.

"I'm so sorry Jasmine." An uncomfortable silence settles as she sits up, not even looking at me.

"How many?" Her voice is so strong despite her tears.

"How many what?" My eyebrows knit together.

"How many girls have you been with?" My heart sinks.

"I don't know. But a lot." The silence returns but I don't push her.

"Do you have feelings for any of them?" 

"No. I didn't then and I don't now. They were all flings that meant nothing." I meet her icy blue eyes as she turns to look at me.

"Promise?"

"I promise."

"Ok. I trust you. Just don't ever let that b***h near you again." She leans against my chest and I wrap her in my arms smirking. How could I have been such an i***t? Why didn't I wait for the Goddess beside me? We sit there in a comfortable silence for I don't know how long before she pulls out her phone and starts typing.

"Who're you texting?" 

"My parents. It's time."

-JASMINE POV-

My parents sit in front of Kade and I looking very very awkward. They were introduced kinda quickly and let me tell you it was the most awkward experience of my life. My mum was crying on me and my dad was struggling between respecting his alpha and wanting to rip his daughter's mate's throat out. He's currently glaring at the arm that's slung around my shoulders.

"Ok you don't have to look so awkward both of you" I finally snap. 

"I'm sorry honey we're just so... overwhelmed." I eye my mother as I see her furiously blink away the next round of tears building in her eyes. I sigh and stand to sit in between my parents on the sofa opposite us. Looking between them I take hold of both of there hands.

"I, Jasmine Fowkes, forgive you both entirely. I promise. Now would you stop being weird?" Their reply is a big bear hug from both of them making me yelp. Man I missed this. 

"So, how are you fitting into pack life?" My mum smiles as I stand up and plonk down next to Kade again, snuggling into his side.

"I'm loving it" I smile genuinely. It's true though, this has been the best few weeks of my life. 

"She's settled amazingly" Kade beams at them proudly. "Everyone loves her already, she's gonna be one hell of a Luna" he smirks down at me. How could I stay mad at that face?

"Honey I don't want to tell you what to do but are you sure you're ready for this?" I roll my eyes.

"Yes mum. I've thought a lot about it and I know I can do it." She nods proudly at me.

"Well we support you 100% sweetheart. Don't we honey?" She smiles warmly and nudges my dad who narrows his eyes at Kade and crosses his arms.

"Yes. But if you ever hurt my daughter then I will break your neck, alpha or not."

"I could never hurt your daughter Mr Fowkes. She everything to me" he stares down at me with his beautiful grey eyes with so much honesty. I see my dad nod out of the corner of my eye and smile at him. 

My parents stay for dinner, pleased to see Matt and their old pack members again and everything feels whole and happy, surrounded by all my favourite people in the world.
