Chapter 11: rogues

-KADE POV-

I sink to my knees as I watch her walk out. Holy f**k.

I snap out of it by Jake mind linking me to ask where I am. I run out the room stripping on the way and shift as I hit the forest, Dex growling in happiness. My wolf is a huge black beast, bigger then the average wolf due to my alpha genes. We effortlessly glide through the forest, hopping over streams and fallen trees without batting an eyelid. We're with Jake and some warriors in a matter of minutes despite the size of our lands. 

'Took your time', Jacob mind links me.

'Yeah well, I was busy' I growl back.

'Oh I bet' Jake chuckles back and I can't help but grin.

'What's the situation?'

'A rogue was spotted further North travelling south. He ran from Matt when he approached.'

'Span the western border. If he's trying to get it, we'll catch him.' I mindlink the group and they run off. We wait until Rex reports a sighting and we run towards his post. I run in as the rogue is being thrown through the air, landing on his back with a yelp. With the advantage, Matt pounces on the rogue, digging his claws into his shoulders and snarling down at the wolf. 

"Shift" I command with my alpha voice and although the rogue struggles, he can't disobey. He shifts into a young lanky boy with dirty long hair and cuts all over his body. Although it's sad, a lot of rogues end up like this as they struggle to fit into a human society and they take to the woods, allowing their wolf dominance. 

"Why are you here" I growl at the man who sneers back at me. 

"wouldn't you like to know." His voice is weak and breaks mid sentence. I know we aren't going to get answers easily so I mindlink the warriors to take the rogue to the cells. They grab him roughly and drag him off in their human forms as he growls.

'Alpha with have this under control if you want to get back to a certain someone' Jake sings through our mindlink. I stand still for a minute before replying 'get answers' and I take off back to the packhouse, Dex howling as we get home to our mate.
