 Sage’s POV             “Heather, I’m nervous,” I mumbled as my older sister fixed my hair for the parvus selection dinner tonight. My sister put down the flat iron in her hand and bent down to look at me through our reflections in the mirror. Her gaze was stern and determined as she whispered into my ear. “You don’t have to do this, Sage. We can run from here.”                       My heart pounded in my chest even as the blood drained from my face.
