Back inside my apartment, I saw that I had missed a call from Brett, but not from Stan Seebold. I phoned Brett. She had little news.
“Shirley Seebold’s divorce proceedings are happening at an unusual time, and I have done some digging into the lady.”
I wasn’t sure that I wanted to hear this. In my eyes Mrs Seebold could do no wrong.
“She was married to a Chris Chipping for about 9 years. He has an IT job, nothing flash and seems to be an extremely pleasant, but not highly talented chap. It appears to have been a happy marriage, and the divorce was one of those ‘no fault’ matters, where it was by mutual arrangement.
