Chapter 17
The first thing that I did after returning home was to contact Vera. She was not fully in the picture. She did not know that she was in Tattoo Face’s sights, and in danger. She did not answer. I left a message.
With the new security and dead lock, unless someone had duplicate keys, my home was again my castle.
I reflected on the new information that I had handled the documents in the safe before they had been placed there, and failed to understand why I was still considered a suspect. I needed to be cleared. Tattoo Face needed to know that I had been cleared. Only then, would he look elsewhere for his missing bonds.
