“Here?!” Ethan cried out in shock.
“Dad, get Justice, Angelo, and Ethan out of here. Me and the boys will take care of the fire,” Day said excitedly as he stood and made his way to the door, Morgan, Jett, Finn, and Zev following close behind.
“No, Day, wait!” Ethan called out, but it was too late. His mate and the other dragons were already gone.
Illan gently grabbed Ethan’s arm and insisted, “Come, Ethan. We need to get you and Justice to safety.”
“But we can’t leave Day. He may need us,” Ethan protested.
Justice moved closer and his gaze met Ethan’s. “No, son. We need to listen to Illan and get out of here while we still can. Day and the others are professionals. They know what they’re doing.
Please, Ethan. If Day knows you’re safe, then he can focus on the job.”
