[16] A hotchpotch of emotions

*Third person's POV*
Last few days were an absolute bliss for both Jin and Annie.
Jin would drop Annie home every night & she would sometimes invite him over for coffee or dinner.
They enjoyed each others company & were gradually bonding over the time.

But nothing went by avoiding 'his eyes'!
He was watching her closely~her every step. He watched her smile at Jin, the way she used to smile at him. He came here to set things right with her but she was already going out with somebody else. Now, another man was near what he believed was his. He wanted to rip Jin's gut out. She belonged to him & only him, he thought.

As the days passed by, Jin's schedule was getting more difficult. Practising the entire day & spending most of the nights with Annie, hardly gave him any time to sleep or rest. He was pushing himself way too hard.
"Jin! Are you taking proper rest?", Manager asked.
"Nae", Jin nodded.
"You've lost a lot of weight. See those dark circle around your eyes? Work hard but don't forget to rest. The concert is around the corner. Don't push yourself too hard. Just two more days to go!"
"Yes, I understand. Um...manager-nim?"
"Mwo?"
"Can I take tomorrow off?"
"But tomorrow will be your final practise before the concert. You want to miss that?"
"I thought, rest was equally important?"
At Jin's sudden comeback, Manager felt silent for a moment.
"......Okay, but make sure you REST", he said, emphasizing on the word he knew Jin wouldn't abide.
"Nae", said Jin bowing down.

*Jin's POV*
The moment Managaer-nim left, I dialled Annie's number.
Annie: hey, handsome! What made you call me at this hour?
Jin: You remember I asked you about a second date?
Annie: *giggling* Second? I think we have crossed that number long time, now.
Jin: Mhmm, so?
Annie: what?
Jin: mmm...you free tomorrow?
Annie: uh... not re...
Jin: Please please please please please pl..
Annie: Ok...okaaayyy! Calm down. I'll ask my boss & let you know.
Jin: aahhhhhhhhhh
Annie: *face-palming* okay! I'll go with you, now calm down. You're behaving like a 6year old kid!
Jin: *smiling ear to ear* See you tonight then. We'll plan what to do. Bye
*call disconnected*

*Annie's POV*
"Jin, surely is a handful", I sighed keeping the mobile aside.
Last few days brought us a lot closer than I could imagine.
I loved spending time with him. It was fun, NOT being alone for a change.
Jin is like a bright gleam of light that illuminated my life.
Sometimes, I wonder, is it okay for me to be this happy?

|| At night, outside the hospital ||
*Peter's POV*
I was leaving for home when I saw Jin waiting outside the main gate of our hospital.
Instinctively, I knew who he was waiting for. I felt a pang in my chest.
She was never really meant to be mine & now I lost her as my friend as well.
*flashback starts*
I grew up in a very strict family. My parents were mostly out of town for business. To be honest, I was basically brought up by Aunt Margaret, our house-keeper. She was more of a mother to me than my own birth mother. My parents never really cared about what I was doing with my life, unless it brought them any shame or it wasn't upto their so-called 'standards'.
For them, money was the solution to every problem.
I remember sending a letter to mum, asking her when she'll come back. Few days later, an envelope was delivered to our house with lot of cash & a small note saying, "Pete, darling, your dad & I are busy. You can have a party at home with your friends, if you want. I've sent some money incase you need to buy something for yourself this Christmas".
I never complained though. After a certain time, I stopped expecting my parents to come & meet me. We would meet twice or thrice a year.
Gladly besides Aunt Margaret, I had Annie. She was my everything. Before I knew, I was madly in love with her. When her parents died, I was scared to lose her. Thankfully, my parents agreed to take care of her until she was capable of earning her own bread.
We practically grew up together.
*flashback ends*
I saw her running out of the hospital towards Jin.
She hugged him tight & kissed him on the lips. They were smiling at each other with so much affection in their eyes.
I missed her. I wonder if she felt the same way.
That night, I couldn't handle it when I saw her so close to Jin. Maybe somewhere I knew, that, unlike Zack, this man was a keeper. I was scared of losing her forever.
After all, she is all I have.
I regret saying things to her that I shouldn't have.
I knew I f*cked up when she slapped me across my face.
I lost my only love. Moreover, I lost my bestfriend.
Tonight, there she was, wrapped in another man's arms.
"Ann", I hardly whispered.
My voice didn't reach her, so didn't my feelings. She left in his car without looking back & I stood there, petrified to the ground.
All I was left with, was a feeling of hollowness in my chest.
"I love you, Ann"

*Jin's POV*
There she was. The most beautiful woman I've ever seen. The only woman who made my heart do somersaults everytime I saw her.
She rushed towards me, hugging me tight, kissing me.
'How much I missed her', I thought.
"You look pretty", I smiled at her.
"You say that everytime", she said punching my left arm, "Lets go, I've already ordered us some Pizza"
"Pizza?Already?"
"Why? You don't like it?", her face dropped.
"I love P-I-Z-Z-A, my little kitten", I said pinching her nose,"lets go".
She giggled like a schoolgirl.
She might be a skillful surgeon to the world, but to me, she was my little kitten.
Sometimes, you just know.
You stand infront of that person & look him/her in the eye & you know it. You feel connected. You just want to walk hand-in-hand with that person, miles after miles, till your heels hurt.
Annie was that person for me.

I saw her get out of that same car with the same man like every night. They went inside her house.
After few hours, once the guy left, I saw her close the door & get inside the house.
'This isn't enough! I want to see her more', I was getting frustrated.
Suddenly, a thought came to my mind.
"I know what do I need to do", I smiled to myself.
