[9] Secrets to be kept!

*Jin's POV*
She was looking so pretty, I couldn't take my eyes off her. I was awestruck by her every move... the way she walked, the way she plucked her hair behind her ears..
She had so many sides to herself. The way she looks when she treats her patients, the way she stands as a strong woman, the way she's dressed up today... everything is so admirable about this woman.
She walked up to me & said, "Hi".
I was so spellbound, all I could manage to say was,"..wow!"
She blushed a little.
Here you go....another side. The 'cute' one.
So much to discover about this woman.
I put aside my awkwardness, and told her," You look great"
She smiled at me.
'My heart. Ugh.'
Soon we left for the cafè. I found her staring at me while I was driving. It was so hard to concentrate on the streets, so I ended up asking her if she wanted to say something but she simply said no. Then I saw her fiddling with her fingers.
'Okay, so I am not the only one who's nervous. That's a relief'
We reached the cafè & was greeted by Martha.
After we settled, Annie all of a sudden asked me, "So Jinnie huh?That's cute"
"Right? She's absolutely stunning" I said laughing.
But somwhow her smile vanished.
'Is she jealous somehow? Nah, we just met recently.'
"You guys seem pretty close", she stated.
'Okay. I guess she thinks something is going on between us'
"Yeah. She is like a little sister I never had", I explained.
I saw her smile again.
'Am I just imagining or is she into me as much as I am into her?'
My thoughts were interrupted when she asked me, "what's eat Jin?"
I don't wanna embarass myself on our first date. I answered vaguely,"That's a secret".
But Martha had to butt-in.
"That's no secret! Oppa loves doing that weird asmr thing while eating.. he & his love for food is inseparable!
He says it's his "thing" besides music.. haha... "
'Ugh. Why? Why does this girl talk so much?'
Without any delay Annie asked her,"Music?"
"You didn't know? Oppa is..."
I couldn't let her speak any further,"Yeah, I like to sing & play guitar. I am currently learning how to play piano.."
Even this couldn't stop her, "Yeah & he is..." Martha almost spilled the beans.
I immediately interrupted by asking her to bring me a bottle of water.
She left at once.
'That was close'
Before Annie could ask anything further, I excused myself.
I went inside the kitchen after Martha.
Jin: Martha!
Martha: Oppa! Wait, I'll bring your bottle to the table. You don't have to come.
Jin: It's not about that. I don't want you to tell her about my profession or anything that happens back in Korea, unless I decide to tell her.
Martha: But, why?
Jin: I don't want her to see me as an idol or a celebrity. I kind of like her, and for once I want somebody to see me as the man that I am.
Martha: I understand. I won't tell her anything.
Jin: Thanks. I'll be going back then.
I saw Annie talking over phone. By the time I reached our table, the call was disconnected.
She seemed to be in a pretty good mood. I wonder who she was talking to.
I ended up asking her. She said she had a movie night planned with somebody named Pete.
'Who is this Pete? Is she dating somebody? Damn'
I asked her who Pete was because I didn't wanna harbour feelings for somebody who is already taken. It's better to stop things before they begin... while you can.
She explained, Pete was her bestfriend since childhood. I was really relieved to know that.
After I finished with my pork cutlet, we left for Chang's gradfather's house.
I wanted to meet him & I'm glad she agreed to tag along.

On the way, she kept asking about my profession & why I didn't let Martha speak. I kept evading the subject till I reached grandpa's house.
"Ho ho... look who's here"
'Ah! That voice.. how much I missed it'
"How are you grandpa? I missed you" I said grinnng like a kid.
