“Jessica… My name… is Jessica.” Jess spoke in a hoarse voice. Her throat was completely dry, and her fear did not help either. All the men’s ears perked up at the sound of her voice and her name. Even if they did not want to care, their wolves wanted to know more about their mate.
“How did you get here?” Kian asked, seemingly bored. Jess frowned not knowing exactly what they were asking. Weren’t they the once that brought her here? What did they mean when they say got here? Jess was not even sure where was here.
“What do… what do you mean… here?” Jessica asked clearly confused.
“This is taking too long.” Xavier growled and stepped forward towards Jess. He grabbed her by the collar and pulled her up.
“How did you find our territory, girl?!” Xavier growled in her face. Jess was so scared and did not know what to say.
“Speak!” He screamed in her face.
“I don’t know.” Jessica called out as tears filled her eyes.
“I was taking a hike, but I felt something strange when I was on the trail and I differed a bit off it, a few seconds later I was being chase by… by.” Jess stopped in the middle of her sentence and tried to recall what happened, once she remembered what happened the night she was caught. Her eyes connect with his and she whispered the last word as if it was a curse word, fear lacing her word.
“Wolves.”
Jessica was still so entranced with what she was remembering that she was completely thrown off when Xavier dropped her on the ground.
“The girl is useless; she has no information for us.” The man that had grabbed her spoke, clearly annoyed.
“I agree with Xavier. Let’s do this the old fashion way.” Sasha said and stood up from her throne. The woman – Sasha– walked towards Jess, Jess tried to move back, but Xavier grabbed her from the back of the collar and dragged her to her feet. Sasha stood in front of Jess, which made Jess nerves spike even more. The woman in front of her had the strangest eyes, but Jess did not even have time to react, before Sasha cupped Jess’s face and Sasha’s slit pupils grew and became bigger. Jess had no time to recall what happened before she got sucked into darkness.
Chapter: Five
As Jess closed her eyes, she felt as if she was being pulled out of her body. She had no control over herself. Jess couldn’t control anything about herself, she had no say when Sasha started to ask questions and Jess simply answered her, without even wanting to.
“How did you get here? How did you get into this territory?” Sasha asks, but her voice has an echo to it as if her words are being heard from far away.
“I was on a hike. It was the first time that I climb this trail, everything was fine in the beginning, but on my second day I felt as if I was being followed. I got off the trail hoping to lose whatever was following me. When I looked back again wolves were chasing. I ran to get away, but I got hurt and when I woke up again, you people were here.” Jessica spoke in a deadly calm voice, she sounded like a drone.
“What do you know of our people? What do you know of supernatural?” Sasha asks her voice still sounding far away.
“I know of stories, but to me that’s all they are, fairytales.” Jess says lifeless again. Sasha scoffs at what she says.
“Fairytales? How wrong humans are. Do you know who these men are to you? Do you know what they are?” Sasha asks with a smile on her face, her voice drawing Jess to answer.
“They are my capturers. They are criminals.” Jessica says. The men around her tensed and got even more angry with what she was calling them. Xavier and Joshua were even more enraged, not knowing how much more of this they could listen to before breaking. ‘How dare she say we were the criminals?’ That’s all that they could think after what she said. Even Matthew who would usually not care or pay attention to anything the human was saying, got mad at the comment she made. Jess, who was still in the trance-like state, did not see what was coming. She was completely shocked when Raymond grabbed her out of the elder’s hands and pushed her backwards. He pushed her so hard that she flew across the room, Jess screamed as she was midair and then groaned when she hit the floor. Everyone was surprised that he was the one who lashed out. Raymond however was still consumed with rage, he preceded to march to where Jess had landed, but was stopped in his tracks as Kian hit the arm of his chair and called out to his son. Xavier walked towards his brother and laid a hand of comfort on his shoulder. It was the only time Xavier showed comfort to someone, he only did it when it was his brothers who needed it.
“Take a breath, Raymond.” Xavier calmly said to Raymond. Raymond looked away from his prey and rather focused on his brother. He took one calm breath and waited for his hands to stop shaking in rage. He then nodded at his brother, showing that he was calm. Once he looked back at Jess, was when he truly realized what he had done. Jess was laying on the floor. Cradling her bad hip, and tears were running down her face as well as blood that dripped from the corner of her mouth. Her other hand was clawing at the marble floor, hoping to find relieve for her pain, not only physical but mentally as well. She was utterly lost and confused. She just wanted to go home and forget about this nightmare. Raymond walked back to his other brothers, trying to pretend that what he had just done to his mate didn’t bother him, but far back in his mind he knew it did.
“We are done with it. Take it back to the cells.” Joshua said to his beta. Mike, the man who had dark brown skin and green eyes that could captivate anyone, walked towards Jess. She tried to drag herself away from him as he got closer, but it was useless. In a moment he was beside her and grabbing her one wrist and pulling her off the ground.
“No. NO! Let me go!” Jess tried to protest, but she could barely lift her other hand to push Mike away. He threw her over his shoulder and started to move towards the exit. Doc Seth, who had entered silently a while ago, started to follow Beta mike.
“Where are you going?” Xavier yelled at the doctor. Doc Seth stopped in his tracks and turned to one of his Alphas.
“Should I not attend to your mate’s wounds?” The Doc asked. Xavier growled in fury.
“Do not call it my mate!” Xavier yelled at the Doc as he clenched his fist angerly.
“And do not act without us telling you too!” He growled. Doc simply bowed his head, showing his apologies.
“Everyone, get out and no one speaks a word of today!” Raymond called out to everyone in the room. Beta Mike gave a small bow to his Alphas before leaving with Jess still on his shoulders, trying to struggle. Doc and Delta Sarah also gave a bow and then left through the other doors.
“You boys are acting foolish.” Elder Nadia sing said as the doors shut. All of the boys turned their attention to her.
“In what way, milady?” Matthew asked, putting his charm back on even though he was barely holding on to control. He hated how anxious his brothers felt and hated that they were in this situation.
“You just killed yourselves.” Elder Nadia said with a soft smile.
Chapter: Six
The quadruplets sat in their adjoint office and thought-over what the elders just told them. All of them were frustrated with the situations. They hated that this moment of finding their mate was tainted with humanity. They wanted to just kill her and forget that she was ever real, but know that she was their mate, they had to keep her alive – for their own sake. That’s what the elders told them – when it comes to having a mate from a different species the mating bond is even more intense than what it already normal is. Normal if someone’s mate dies, it would take them years to get over it, if they even could get over, but with other species as your mate it is a lot more intense. If Jess dies, it might be so intense that they lose their humanity and how stronger the bond gets the more intensely they will be affected if something were to happen to her, they could even die themselves. The elders had given them a lot more information on mates with different species, but they boys were to focus on that one matter.
“We just found out it was our mate, maybe if we kill it now, it won’t affect us as much as the elders think.” Joshua said, seemingly bored as he sat with one leg on his desk and the other leg swinging off it. All the boy’s wolves growled at the words Joshua spoke. Clearly making their disapproval known.
“Even if we wanted to kill her, our wolves would never allow it. You know how protective wolves are over their things.” Matthew spoke as he kept throwing his football up in the air and catching it again, only to start over again.
“Just because it is our mate, does not mean we need to build a relationship with it, we simple just need to keep it from dying.” Xavier said coldly as he stared out of the big glass wall on the one side of their office. He wanted to seem like he was under control, but his one hand rubbing at the top of his lip, gave away his anxiousness.
“We don’t kill it we hide it in the cells. That way we do not have to deal with it and if it’s out of our way we can even forget its here.” Xavier said and crossed his arms, staring out and looking over his pack members.
“We can even have reports about it, send to Mike or Sarah, that way we really don’t have to have contact with it at all.” Raymond pitched in, Xavier gave a nod, clearly showing his approval of his brother’s idea.
“As long as we do not have to deal with it, I don’t care what the plan is.” Joshua said and moved off his desk and picked up a few papers.
“I have to deal with the new training program for the warriors. I’ll leave now.” Joshua said as he made it out of the office. Matthew stopped playing with his football and moved to the exit as well.
“I’ll test your new program. You know to see if it’s actually hard this time.” Matthew joked as he caught up with Joshua. Joshua simply nodded and gave his brother half a smile. Xavier looked over to Raymond.
“Would you like to arrange the things for the human, or do you have to much other things on your plate.” Xavier said, but Raymond didn’t say anything. He was frozen on the couch staring at the books on the shelves. Xavier moved from his spot, closer to Raymond.
