"What have you been staring at the whole time?" Questioned Zoe, "We would run late tho school if you keep gazing out at the vault of heaven."
Before I could grasp my breath to register a word, Zoe pulled me out of my throne. I looked at it desperately for I felt that I was leaving pieces as it carry the tales of my timeless night. I wondered the reason for her hastening up the day as we never got out of our comfortable residence until the sun was at its peak.
"Do you even remember what is today?" Beseeched Zoe.
I looked at her with no clue of an answer for her question.
"Today is the day we have been waiting for since the day we stepped into high school. It's the beginning of our senior year!" cried Zoe.
A billion of conversation and thoughts filled my desolated power of though. I execrated myself for forgetting something that has been a part of my living for years. I felt a sudden spark of energy flow through me and I no longer needed a lead to my destination.
With less than an hour,Zoe and I were out in vibrant colours. Zoe fastened up the front door and both of us walked through the hallway to the front of the huge iron entrance that would get us into our destiny of our excitement.
The gate was an impressive wrought iron affair with spikes at the top. The eleven bar gate looked out of place in the urban landscape. It is a myth with every student at the Silver Oak High School that the great-grandfather of the school was from the country and so had installed a gate that reminded him of home.
The school didn't look customary as always. The wind howls as the students arrive through the gates, hustling and bustling down the corridors. Friends are greeting each other with a hug or a playful punch while newcomers stand looking scared. We seniors stood, tall and proud, confidence born of experience.
Before we could think of anything else....The school bell rang, and everybody ran to fondle the new beginning.
I looked at the magnificent structure infront of me proudly.
"Another school year begins",
I thought before smiling and running in to join the others.
