THIRD PERSON POV
The sun rose. The rise of the sun made the villagers start their day. Covington woke up to the sound of bangles. He and Samuel got ready for the day. They both walked out of the house to start their day.
BETHANY POV
I saw them leaving the house and got up. I started to search for the bags that they carried yesterday. But I couldn't find anything. Suddenly the door opened and revealed Sam, who was coming in. "Are you awake?... What were you doing?" He asked as soon as he entered. "Nothing. By the way, can I ask you something?" Sam nodded and, I started. "When did you both came here?" "Yesterday afternoon. Why?" He answered with a question. "Just wanted to ask. Remember the girl we met yesterday? What's her name? How long has it been since you guys met?" I finished my questions while settled myself on the couch.
"Why this much question about her? Curious?" he laughed and sat beside me. "Sure, I'll tell you. The last time when we went to Galapagos, we helped her. By now, you must know she is a sailor. We helped her and stayed with her until her boat gets done. Name? Alexia. How long? 6 months? No, more than six months we know her. Anything else you want to know?" I nodded. "How did Covi know when is the celebration?" He thinks a while. "I don't know. He might have guessed it. Don't you know he is good at guessing?" He slightly slapped my hand. "Let it be. Why did you come back?" He stood up intensely and headed towards his bed. Then he lifted his bed and pulled out his bag. "You guys! Aren't you both being a bit mean? If Covi doesn't trust me, it's okay. But you! How dare you not trust me?" I shouted at him, but he laughed and went out. Before leaving, he said, "I don't trust you as you have stolen my golds. It's something you made for yourself. Anyways, see you later. With that, he went off.
COVINGTON POV
We both got ready and left home. We both got ready and left home. "Hey, did you bring your bag?" I asked Sam and his mouth went ah. "I'll be back. You go first." He said and left to get his bag. I started to walk into the crowd. Firstly, why I came here was to meet one fortune teller. When I was searching for the fortune teller house, Alexia crossed my eyes. Without any warning, my body moved in her direction. She entered a house, passing through two men. I looked up at the signboard. It showed 'WE TELL STORIES OF PAST AND FUTURE.' By following her, I ended up where I should go. Before I could enter, Alexia came out. "Hello." She greeted me as she knew I was outside. "Hello. Did you saw me coming or what?" I asked. "No, the fortune teller said you were coming here." I didn't know what to say. "Wanna have a meal with me?" She asked out of the blue. "Sure, but can you wait a while. I want to meet the fortune teller. I'll be back soon." She nodded and, I went in.
"Welcome home, boy." He greeted me. "Enough of acting! Where is my money? You promised me to pay back correctly. Did you follow it?" I asked while sitting down on a chair. "Before that, would you like to hear about your future?" he asked and sat down on his chair. I thought about it a while and nodded. He started to do the process. After a while, he opened his eyes. "Did you do what I said to you last time we met?" I shook my head. "No. What did you ask me to do?" He slammed the table and stood up fiercely. "You didn't do it? Did you forget about it? How dare you not to follow what I said? Listen, no matter who you are or wherever you go, you will come back here for every full moon festival. How could you forget this? You have a vow that you should complete in this birth. Try to remember it." Nothing came out of my mouth as I was shocked. "But that is something not important to me. Who will dwell on the past when the future is ours? You listen, I don't believe in this kind of thing." I shouted back at him. I realized too late that my voice was a little loud.
The front door swung opened, revealing Sam, Lex, and two men. "Nothing. You both stay outside. You both can come in." The two men went out and closed the door. "What did you said? Who will dwell on
the past when the future is ours? That's right. But you forgot about the vow he said before. By completing that, you might get something that you lost at your previous birth. So please listen to him." First, Alexia said that. Second, how can I not listen to it? I nodded. and paid money to the fortune teller. Then, I walked out from there. Sam called my name and
I stopped.
THAT WAS THE MOMENT I KNEW I BLUNDERED.
