Chapter 3: Zyx

While he was lying with eyes closed in his office couch panting, someone knocked at the door. Not waiting for his permission, the person opened the door and he heard a sigh.

" Making a mess in your office again, I see. "

The person who entered his office was his Beta Felix Anders and he was the alpha of their pack Zyx Garren.

Felix crouched down to pick up all the papers that were splatter around his office.

" Zyx, why not just— "

He growls in anger knowing what his Beta was going to utter.

" If you're going to utter such nonsense then say it another time since Syldric was still on edge. "

He advised with anger mixed in his voice not because he was angry but it was caused by his wolf Syldric raged that was still not calming down.

Taking his Alpha's advice he chooses his next words.

" The alpha of twilight river pack sent us an invitation letter for their company's anniversary but he indicated that it was a party for the unmated individuals that was held every 3 months in their territory. "

His beta stopped talking, knowing the reason he just stayed silent to imply that he was listening and to continue what his saying.

" I also investigated it and found out that the other unmated werewolves of different cities were also participating in it and nothing out of the ordinary happened in the party for all these past years. In my opinion, it won't be bad to accept the invitation. "

With that his beta stopped talking and was waiting for his decision.

He opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling. He couldn't count anymore in how many did he attended a party for unmated werewolves.

He already traveled in so many different countries that he also lost count of it. His getting tired of it and also losing hope.

" Then list the names of all interested unmated members of our pack then send a reply that our pack was also participating together with the name list. "

" Understood. "

They are currently on a plane going to the said city in the address.

Looking outside the window he reminisce all he had caused to their pack and turning it into something far from his ideal pack when he was still the heir of their pack, he was now in the verge of giving up seeking for his true mate. Getting tired of constantly on edge and unintentionally hurting some members of his packs, his thinking of his ideal of having his fated mate to be his Luna that was standing beside him ruling their packs is still the right decision. He was now also losing hope that he has a fated mate, maybe what the others said was the truth that he can't just accept. He must be a fate-less wolf.

Thinking that, he felt a tightness in his chest. He was now lost of what to follow,

whether the brain that thinking to just give up or the heart that still seek for its other half.

He was awake from his thoughts, when he looked at Felix he had a sincere smile on his face.

" Whether it is your ideal or stubbornness, nothing is wrong with following it. We will just support you at your back. Everyone in the pack also agrees with it so until you find your mate don't worry about us. "

His beta said frustrated but like him, Felix was aware of what would happen to the person he chose as a chosen mate.

In the past, his parents just decided to chose a chosen mate for him and that ended up as a disaster. His wolf almost killed the woman chosen for him that's why they also gave up on that idea.

He once tried to convince his wolf Syldric for them to choose a chosen mate but that also didn't end well.

They battled for control of his body and they caused disaster around him, when he finally calmed his wolf down, he saw some of the pack members severely injured which his wolf attacked when his in control and he deeply regretted that day.

He deeply apologized to his pack members and locked himself in his room for a month.

" Is this really no other way? damn it. Why don't we request help from the elders? uh, no, I take that back. they'll just deem you unworthy. argh. s**t. "

When he spoke his beta focused his attention on him.
