Chapter 15

Ashton Ashton was pleased at how things were going so far. He managed to get Violet Harris all the way to Vegas. He had a few plans up his sleeve for the night. He was happy to have gotten Miss. Harris flown all the way out there for one sinful night of good fun. His phone rang. It was his father. "How is the plan working son?" questions his father. "Look father I cannot really talk right now. Miss. Harris is here with me. In my room" chuckles a pleased Ashton. "Is that so? I am proud of you son! Hopefully Miss. Harris will become Mrs. Maxford before the night is over with" laughs his father. "Shh, not so loud. The walls have ears" warns Ashton. "I better let you go. Let me know if my son gets hitched" chuckles his father as they hang up. Violet walks into the room. Her long legs catch his eye. She admires the Vegas view. "So is the room to your liking Miss. Harris?" he questions as he makes his way over to her. "Vegas never gets old" she replies at last. "No it sure does not. That big city is waiting for us to explore it. Want to head out for dinner? Or we can stay in if you wish?" he says softly as he pulls her close in his embrace. He kisses her neck. "One night, you will have to wait until the end of the night Mr. Maxford. Somethings are worth the wait" she points out. A smile crosses her lips. He smiles back. "Alright Miss. Harris. Let's go to dinner" he agrees. "What sounds good for dinner?" she asks him. "I already made us dinner reservations at a Japanese steak house" mentions Ashton. "That sounds splendid" agrees Violet. She looked pleased with that choice. He leads her out of their room. When they went into the elevator he could feel the heat from her body. She began to make him ache inside. He was not a patient man but he would wait it out. "What is on your mind Mr. Maxford?" she whispers to him. She reaches up pulling at his tie gently on his neck. He feels his Adam's apple begin to tighten up. It was getting a bit stuffy for him in the small enclosed elevator. "You sure one night will do the trick? Maybe we should have a few more lined up" he chuckles as he leans in and kisses her. She groans as his lips move across hers. "One night of sin, in a sinful city" she whispers on his lips right before kissing him again. His groin aches as she presses into his body. She fit perfectly there. Her small arms wrap around his middle pulling his body close to her own. They were to busy into each other to notice the elevator door had opened once they were on the main floor. They heard laughing from a crowd. "Get a room!" someone laughs loudly. "Shall we?" asks Ashton as he stops making a spectacle of himself in public. He lets Miss. Harris lead the way out of the elevator. Her pretty face turns a crimson red from the crowd's heckling. He places his hand on the back of Miss. Harris. Leading her like a gentlemen out the hotel. He had a limo waiting out front for them both. "Here you are Miss. Harris. Just like back home" mentions Ashton as the limo driver opens the door for them to get in. "Thank you" says Violet as she climbs in. They head out on the town. Ashton begins to pour the drinks. The more they got wasted the more chances he had of getting Miss. Harris down the altar. At the wedding he wanted. "What is your pleasure?" he asks her. "Oh I am not much of a drinker. I am a light weight" she chuckles softly as she crosses those long legs of hers. "Come on. One little glass won't hurt you" he offers. He pours her a drink. He hands her a glass of scotch. "My father was always a scotch man himself" mentions Violet as she looks down to inspect her drink. "He has good taste then" he chuckles. "Cheers. Here is to one night" he says as they clink glasses together. She swallows the beverage down. She did not look like she enjoyed the bitter taste but she did it. It was a start. They were just begging to! They head out to the restaurant. They ate a full large meal. He ordered them wine for drinks. The meal was hearty. He loved the food. As did she. They had a good time watching their meal be cooked in front of them. Then they went to another place in town. He took her dancing. He was not much of a dancer. But he kept in time with her. Pulling her body in close to him. "You are a good dancer Mr. Maxford" she giggles as she leans in on him. Her breath was something. She needed a mint there soon. Too much drinking. She was starting to show signs of being plastered. But not plastered enough for a fake wedding night! She nearly falls over as they dance. "Whoa there little lady. Want to go play some poker?" he offers. "Sure, why not" she slurs her words as she downs another drink. He nods as he leads her back to their hotel. They play some friendly poker. It seemed that Violet had a winning streak in her. She was calling all the numbers that night. An excited crowd gathered around them to watch her at her best. "Call it lady" the man at the table calls to Violet. "33 red" she demands. "If I win, a round of drinks on me!" cheers Violet as she lifts her hands in the air. The crowd cheers. "Here is a wager. Instead of more drinks, why not bet on something more profitable?" asks Ashton. "What do you mean?" asks Violet. "Let's get married if you win this round. What do you say? Take a grand honeymoon with the winnings? We make a grand team Vi? You know it is true" he tries his best. "Marry you?" she laughs. "Come on. What do you have to lose?" he asks. "Alright. If I win, I will marry you" she laughs. He nods. "33 red?" the man at the poker table asks. "33 red" says Violet. The table spins. Turns. The little white ball bounces around in a circle. This was going to be his fate. Come on lucky number 33. Suddenly it sneaks right over to 33 just as the wheel slows way down. The crowd cheers as it lands on 33. Violet yells happily with excitement. She wraps her arms around Ashton. "I won! I won!" she laughs. "I am getting married!!" she squeals to the crowd. The crowd cheers. "We have a winner!" the man at the table calls out. "Want to play again? Or quit?" "We have a wedding to attend to. We quit" laughs Ashton. He helps Violet cash in her chips. While she does he heads in the gift shop. He buys her a fancy engagement ring. "Will you marry me?" he jokes as he gets down on his knee. She grins after she cashes her chips in. "You are serious?" she laughs. He nods. "Oh yes. We make the perfect match" he agrees. "Alright. Let's do this!" she says. They head out to find a chapel. As she rests her head on his shoulder in the limo guilt creeps in on him. She was a nice girl. If things were different they might make a perfect match. He was not in the market for love. Love was never an option. "I am glad I met you Ashton" she admits as she runs her fingers up his shirt to touching his nose. "You are?" he asks. She nods. "We are pretty amazing together. There is something about you that keeps me wanting more" she admits. She yawns. "Are you tired?" he asks her. "A little. The room is spinning" she admits. He nods. He sees the limo pull up to the chapel. "Vi we are here. Come on" he tells her. He leads her in the chapel. They start to fill out the paper work. He pays for the wedding. They are about to get married by a man dressed like Elvis Presley. They were next in line. Poor Violet was about to fall asleep on him right there. "Next" calls out the man in the jump suite. Ashton helps Violet up. She stumbles a little. "Woah there little lady" he laughs holding her up. "Ash? What are we doing again this time?" she asks looking confused. His heart sinks. He could not marry her like this. Not like this. What was wrong with him? He could seal this deal right here. Right now! "I think we missed a wrong turn. Let's get you back to the hotel" he sighs. "Are you getting married?" the man dressed as Elvis asks him. "Not tonight" he tells the man as he leads a hung over Violet out of the chapel.
