Chapter 4 Forming A Plan

1026 Words
Ace's POV When Alex and I arrived in Cambria Pines, the ashes were still smoldering. "Who is in charge of the patrol?' I asked Alex. "It's Captain Douglas," he replied. I sent out a mind link to my pack, "Bring Captain Douglas to me." I was desperate for answers. One of the patrol guards met us on the street. "Your highness, Captain Douglas, was wounded in battle. He is in one of the healing tents." the guard informed us. "Take me to him," I ordered. As we walked to the edge of town, I started to smell the faint scent of my mate. "Wait!' I yelled. I followed her scent to an old abandoned warehouse. The door was already open, and I walked inside. I saw a chair in the middle of the room, which still smelled like her. There were different personal items thrown about the room. She was here. I looked down and saw a smashed cell phone. Bending down, I picked up the broken phone. I knew it belonged to her, and I'm sure she would like to have it back. I placed the phone in my pocket. After a thorough inspection, we left to speak with the Captain. He had a bad gash on his leg. I sat down next to his cot, "Now, tell me everything that happened." I inquired of him. He started to retell the event, "For about a week, before the attack, we had a couple of rogue sightings. It was nothing big, just one rogue each time. Looking back, I see they were scouting the area. When the attack happened, I was home with my family. I left immediately and rallied my patrol unit. We raced toward the city gates and started to fight with an entire army of rogues. We were outnumbered. Little did we know that this was his way of distracting us. Another Rogue troop was with Alpha Bane in the forest at the opposite end of town." At just hearing his name, my fists began to clench. "He murdered my wife and took my daughter, Kaylee," he said with tears rolling down his cheeks. "I should have been there for them. I should have sent some guards to cover that area," he said, completely blaming himself. I looked into his eyes and said to him, "It's not your fault. We'll find your daughter and all of the other daughters that were taken." I started to explain that my troops followed the Rogues up the Wolverton Mountains after the battle. "That's when they crossed over the border, escaping us. I am sending my troops to bring food, and we will help rebuild your village." Before I left, he thanked me and shook my hand. He had no idea that my mate was one of the twenty-five missing girls. Vowing, with every fiber of my being, that I would find her. With a heavy heart, I went back home to the castle. I had to figure out a plan to attack Alpha Bane. Somehow, I needed to ally with Alpha Samuel of the Western territory. That route was the only way we could cross the border safely. My Father (the previous Alpha King) and his father had a bad relationship. They argued over a trade agreement. My father felt that he had cheated him out of some money. I had never met his son Samuel, so I wasn't sure how our conversation would go. I took over as Alpha King of the Blue Mountain pack a year ago after my father passed away. My mom Queen Isabella stepped down from being our pack, Luna. All of the pressure and responsibilities laid on my shoulders. As I arrived home in the city of Fangdor. My ancestors built Hunter's Castle for the Royal bloodline. My mom raced outside to meet me. "What happened to your eye?" she asked. She reached up and touched my face. I looked away from her and said, "Alpha Bane took it." I stormed off to my office. Sitting down at my desk, I picked up the phone and dialed the number for Alpha Samuel. "Hello, this is Sam," I heard on the other end of the line. "Uh, yes, this is Alpha Ace, from the Blue Mountain Pack. I have called to ask for a favor." "What kind of favor?" he replied. "My kingdom has been attacked by the Rogue Alpha Bane. He has taken twenty-five of our unmated females. One of them is my mate." I explained. "Oh, I see. I have also sensed the rouges presence in my Western Territory. Even though I am not one hundred percent certain, I believe he has my mate as well." he said. Wow, that news was a complete shock to me. "So, will you'll help me track them down? I asked, hopefully. He answered, "Of course. I'll make you a deal; I'll help you find your mate if you help me find mine." "It's a deal. Thank you so much for helping us, and I look forward to meeting you in person tomorrow Alpha Samuel." I said. "No, please call me Sam. I'll inform my patrol to let you cross the border in the morning. See you then," he said as he hung up the phone. Yes, he was going to help me. That was better than I had ever hope for. Plus, he wanted to find his mate just as badly as I wanted to find mine. I ran down to the dungeon and grabbed my favorite weapons. It would be much easier for us to drive in my Hummer than to run in our wolf forms. I mind linked my Beta Alex and Gamma Lauren, "We are leaving in the morning for the Western Territory. Be here at 8:00, packed and ready". "Yes, Alpha," They both responded. As I was walking back up the stairs, I felt the broken phone in my pocket. I took out the phone and handed it to my butler. "Here, take this phone to the shop and see what they can recover. Tell them it is crucial and belongs to the future Luna of this pack."
