Chapter 10 The Date

1084 Words
Ace's POV Exploding with excitement, I packed a change of clothes and a gift basket. I made sure to give her the best Belgian chocolate, exotic fruits, and red roses. I was feeling apprehensive about her seeing me in my human form. Would she recognize me as her Alpha? After seeing the heartless females at my Mother's celebration, I feel that I should keep my identity a secret. To test my mates' true feelings. Kaylee needs to love me for me and not just my title.   After informing my Beta Alex to keep an eye on things, I took off for Crystal Lake. Tonight is going to be my night off. All I can think about is her. Our mate bond was growing so much stronger. It would be faster to travel in my wolf form, so I transformed and let Nanook take over. He placed the gift basket between his teeth and started running.   So many thoughts swirling through my brain. Would our wolves accept each other? How would she handle becoming Luna? I craved her touch. Completely addicted to her honey apple sweetness. I was amazed at how she could excite me and calm me both at the same time.   When I arrived at the lake, I transformed into my human form. Taking my clothes out of the basket, I started to put them on. Just as I put my pants on, there was her sweet smell lofting in the air. Peeking my head out from around the bushes, I expected to see Kaylee. Standing in her place was a perfect white wolf. Her fur was glistening in the sunlight.  Oh yeah, this was my kind of she-wolf. With my fear abandoned, I quickly took off my pants and shifted back into my wolf. Nanook was dying to meet her. Picking up the gift basket, Nanook walked out to greet his mate.   Kaylee's POV The next day I told Kayo and Lena all about meeting my wolf mate at the lake. Lena was so excited for me. Pearl had been pacing in my mind trying to surface. Since my mate had met me in his wolf form last night, I decided to meet him in my wolf form today. At just the mere thought of seeing him again, I had butterflies in my stomach. I couldn't wait to feel tingles on my skin again. "Don't wait up for me," I called as I ran out the door.   My trip to Crystal Lake went by so much faster today. I was so nervous. Would he fully accept me as his mate? When would I go to live with him? When would our wedding and mating ceremony be? Does he want to have pups? So many unanswered questions.     I arrived at the lake and walked along the shore. Doubt started filling my mind. Would he even come today? I tried to stay positive as I waited for him to come. Pure happiness flooded my heart as the woodsy forest scent filled my nose. He was here, somewhere.   Out from behind some bushes out walks my black wolf mate. He was carrying a basket in his mouth. He laid the basket down at my feet and sat down. "Hi, I'm Nanook"  "Hello, I'm Pearl." "Pearl, it is so nice to be able to talk to you. Since you are my mate, I will make arrangements for us to be together." Nanook proclaimed. I could tell he was honest and meant what he said; however, he was way too serious. Wanting to have a little fun, I said, "If you want me, you'll have to catch me first." Then I took off running through the trees. He easily caught up and pounced on me. Knocking us over, we tumbled on the ground. I was lying on my side in submission as he stood over me. "You win," I said breathlessly. I was fine with that. I wanted a mate that could take control and wasn't weak. Then we started playfully nipping at each other. I could feel the sparks as our fur came in contact. First, we caught some rabbits for dinner. Then we chased the deer out of the meadow. Running through the water, our fur was completely wet, but we didn't care. The moon was bright, and I had Nanook by my side. That's all I could ever ask for. We spent the entire evening roaming the woods. After our long run, we cuddled together for a nap under an apple tree. It felt like a dream, and I never wanted to wake up.   Pearl was head over heels in love with Nanook. The night was perfect. He escorted me back to the cottage. "Meet me again tomorrow at the lake. I will bring you home to live with me soon. My Sweetness," he said. "Yes, I'll look forward to it," I replied.  He is so cute when he's serious.   Looking deep into my eyes, straight into my soul, he whispered, "Pearl, I have been searching for you for weeks. Now that I've found you, I'm never letting you go." His warm tongue licked my face. Then he buried his muzzle in my neck. I thought he was going to mark me right then and there. Instead, he turned and ran off through the woods. The crazy thing was that I wanted him to mark me. I was ready, and my body already belonged to him. My heart ached to watch him leave. Now I was full of faith that he would come and see me tomorrow.   Lena greeted me as I walked in the door. She wanted to hear all the details. I told her everything that happened and that I would be moving out soon to be with him. She was so happy for me and offered to help me pack. I thanked her and said goodnight.   Sitting down on my bed, I looked through the basket he gave me. My favorite chocolates and romantic red roses. They looked so expensive. I really don't know much about him. He never even told me his human name. I told him my story, but he was being secretive. It was so hard to fall asleep, thinking about everything that happened that night. Anticipating our life together. Everything was accelerated due to us being werewolves. We knew we were mates for life. Our mate pull was binding us closer together, as one. I was even starting to be able to feel what he was feeling.
