After the obligatory large cup of tea and two Hobnobs she usually enjoyed for breakfast, she headed to the lab, filled with a sense of optimism which she hadn’t felt ever since starting this godawful job.
The weather was ordinary. The sun had a hard time breaking through the clouds that seemed ever-present in this part of Scotland.
