After Lucius left, both Duncan and Maddox looked at each other. With the frown deepened on his face, Maddox left. Duncan's gaze fixed on Night and she gulped.
He walked closer to her. "You are one lucky boy, mate. Lucius let you go, even made his assistant. But, don't take it for granted. He just spares you temporarily. Our eyes will always be on you. One mistake, and you are..." He bend down to her face and showed her the sign of death. "Finished."
He stood straight. "Now, follow me," Duncan said and Night obliged. Getting out of the library, Night faced the utmost poshness in front of her eyes. Though the lavish mansion was nothing new to her but this one was out of her range.
Duncan led her through one huge hall which was open from one side. When she tried to look down, nothing could be seen other than the open space and the large crystal chandelier hanging above the ceiling. The corridor was styled with an expensive carpet and at a few distances, flower vases were kept. Passing the corridor they went downstairs they entered another hall. This time it was a covered hall, it has rooms on both sides. Yet, with some decoration.
Duncan only stopped at the last room of the corridor. Turning to her, he opened the entrance for her. "This is your room from now on. And that is mine." He pointed his I dex finger at the opposite door. "And the beside one is for Maddox. We will be watching you the whole time. So, don't ever try to use your brain. And remember one thing clearly, never roam around without any reason. Understand?"
Night nodded her head quickly. She understood!
Duncan stepped aside and let her get inside the room. "Go, We will pick you up at exactly ten in the morning." With another single nod, Night went inside. Before closing the door, Duncan fixed his gaze on her dark one once again "Do not dare to forget what I have said. Or else..." He didn't complete his words but she knew what he wanted to.
After Duncan was gone, Night let go a breath. She felt like she was breathing after so long! It was so intimidating when those men were around her! One, she had to protect her secrets from the world and she was glad that they didn't already figure it out when she was unconscious. And the other thing was, they were all murderers. It was not rocket science to guess about their nature. They must be some mafia men or gangsters, no doubt in it.
Night looked around, taking the view of the room she was in. The dim golden light gives the whole room a royal vibe along with the off-white walls. A long couch extended alongside the bed, right next to the window, covered with chiffon and silk off-white curtains. The huge double doors were exactly in front of the bed and both sides of the wall have been designed as a closet, while a frosted glass door separated the washroom from the room. And lastly, two attached bedside drawers and a simple but elegantly designed table lamp are placed on both sides.
This room reminded her of her own room in Mexico. 'If they are providing servants with this kind of room, then how are their using rooms!' Night was in awe. However, in the next second, her mood was sunken when the murder scene appeared in front of her eyes. 'Lavish life built up on innocents blood has never brought any good ever. My dad suffered his loss, indulging mom and me in it. How long, this empire will stand for them?'
Night shook her head helplessly. She knew well, how this mafia life works. She has suffered. Once a princess now living a life of a beggar, hiding her identity.
She sat down at the edge of the bed, lowering her shoulders. She felt sad and almost ruined. There was not an ounce of energy left inside her. Night stood up and walked towards the washroom, idea was to get fresh and have some sleep if she could get it.
However, she stopped in front of the glass door, turning around, Night started roaming her eyes in the whole room, very careful and sharply. Finally, she relaxed when she didn't find any trace of cameras in the room. Because of the secret, she was always highly alert to her surroundings.
Stepping inside the bathroom, she locked the door and checked around carefully. Everything was clear in this part too. Slowly, she started removing her artifice look. Night fixed her gaze on her own self through the mirror. And her painful past flashed in front of her eyes.

Flashback Started...
"No! Please!" Night's back pressed on the wall as she pleaded. There was no way to go more. "Please, let me go." She cried.
"Oh my future wife, I have paid enough for you. How can I let you go?" Xavier rubbed his hands together. "Moreover, your guardian has allowed me to meet with you. So, we can know each other better." He said, taking his steps forward to her.
Xavier Kingston, One of the high society gangster in Mexico. His origin was from America but his family has built their black territory in Mexico. He was a good friend of Night's stepmother and promised them to help to get their position back once again in the community. In an exchange he wanted Night and that was how he was standing in her room.
Night never wanted to marry a man like Xavier. Even the thought of it made her disgusted. His words created shivering in her whole body as she swallowed hearing his words.
He went too close to her, interrupting her sanity. His cold index finger touched her cheek as she closed her eyes shut. Run. Run. Run. That's what was going on inside her mind.
His eyes raked over her hungrily and her whole body gave disgusted and chilled goosebumps, she never wanted to feel. Xavier has always his eyes on her. He was handsome enough with his dark eyes, dark hair and of course chiselled muscles in his tanned skin. But, he was always been a fear for Night, never in once in her life had she felt good about this guy. He was torturous and evil, always.
Her eyes snapped open when she felt his breath on her face. He was leaning so close to her. His intention was clear to Kiss and Night never wanted that! At the moment she was so surprised and was out of her mind. And lost mind opened the defence system inside her as she shot up her knees on his manhood, catching him off guard.
With a loud groan, Xavier stammered back, holding his groin and Night took the chance to make a run away from him. However, she did not succeed as Xavier was quick to recover. Before she could step outside of the room, he held her by the waist and slammed her back painfully on the wall beside the door.
"Aggh." A painful groan slipped from her tongue as her head hit on the wall and white Stars started bursting in front of her eyes. Night started protesting out from his stern grip.
With a jerk, his firm hands grabbed her by throat. "Not so soon, wife. I have had enough of your restraintment, not any more. You are mine and I will not stop till I make you mine. And lucky you, I have decided to make you mine, now."
'No! No! No! This can not be happening with me!' She was choking out of breath, still managed to speak up "I am not your wife yet!" Her voice came out like a quirk.
Xavier chuckled out lout "Soon you will be. And to-night, I will make sure of it." He started leaning on her face.
Night was so desperate to get out of here. Her free hand was searching for something desperately. And suddenly, something cold touched her hand. She tried to feel it and realised it was the vase on the side table. Night didn't think for a second, picking it up, she broke it on his head.
A growl slipped his mouth as Xavier trembled, loosening his grip from her. Night got the chance she was waiting for. Pushing him away from her, she turned around and ran away, not even looking back to see what happened to him!
When she reached to the hall, downstairs. Night heard shoutings from behind. But, she did not wait to see what was happening. She needed to run for the sake of her life. She ran out if the mansion, turning her step towards the backyard, ignoring the main entrance.
She couldn't run out of the mansion right now as everyone might be searching for her. High chance to get caught. So, she decided to hide in the old wooden scrap house. It was unused and no one comes here as it was filled with dirt. However, she and Edmund would always come here just to play, hiding from all the eyes. It was their secret place.
Hiding herself under all the dirt, Night waited. She heard shots and noises inside and outside of the house. Mostly, it was angry Xavier and her uncle. With tears in her eyes, Night waited for them to go silent which seemed impossible at the moment though.
Time passed and Night didn't have any idea what was going on outside as the shouting stopped. Still, she was inside the wooden specks of dirt with various insects. But, they were not harmful at all as her own family. So, sharing a space with these insects was nothing fearful for her. Instead, she was grateful to them. Eventually, she started losing her patience and decided to go out and check if the road was clear.
However, as soon as she put a step out of the dirt, she heard footsteps near her! Night was scared and quickly hide once again. A rat ran away over her foot with a small groan, annoyed by the sudden intruder. Yet, she was quiet. Even held her breath. But, the footsteps never stopped. It was so close to her and the problem was she didn't even know who it was because of the darkness.
"Night?" She heard a whispery voice. "I know you are here. It's me, Edmund. I am here to protect you. Can you hear me?"
Night relaxed hearing his voice as she showed herself in front of him. Both stared at each other in silence for a moment. Edmund broke the silence first by engulfing her in a tight hug. "Thank God, you are safe."
Night nodded her head. She didn't know how long she would be safe. "Umm... What is the situation inside?" Her tone was weak and low.
"Not good. You... Can't go back." Edmund paused and bring out something from the bag he was holding all the while. "Here, take it."
Night confusedly stared up at him. "What is it?"
"The ticket of your liberty." He put the packet in her hand. "Go away, Night and never back until I call for you."
"But..." Night stopped when she saw what he gave to her. Her eyes widened in shock. "This is..." No words came out of her mouth as she stared up at her brother. "Why, Edmund?"
Edmund gulped the lump in his throat. "Because you deserve it. Leave the country. Make this fun as your identity, Night." He paused and then again continued. "I never wanted to see you with that Kingston. So, I was making a plan on how to get you out of this and suddenly, this occurred to me. Our childhood game. This is the best and the safest option to hide away from these eyes. They could never guess. Deja que el juego sea tu realidad." (Let the game be your reality.)
Night shook her head vigorously, cheeks filled with tears. "No, this isn't right. What if they find out? Ellos no te dejarán." (They will not leave you.) She cried.
Edmund wiped away her tears and hold her hands. "They will never find me because they will never doubt me. And you will leave. Now, get ready with all these and come with me."
And then without her consent, Night still turned herself into a boy. With Edmund's help, she left the Mexican border and entered America. It was not tough for her to speak in English but, her voice could create a problem in her way. So, she decided to act as a silent boy, just to survive her life.

Present Time...
Night splashed water on her face. Licking her dried lips, she let out a soft sigh of helplessness. "I ran away from my violent family to survive and live a peaceful life, hiding my pride of being a woman. But, my destiny once again brought me into the world of violence. And I don't know, how to get away from this! Ojalá Dios me haya enviado a una familia normal o tal vez me haya bendecido con una vida de huérfano, entonces podría ser que no debería haber enfrentado todas estas cosas en la vida." (I wish, God has send me into a normal family or maybe blessed me with a life of an orphan, then might be I shouldn't have faced all these things in life.)
