Chapter 10: Nine-ish sharp

There are a good number of people already milling around by the time I make it out of my room. As I thought last night, I made it by nine-ish sharp. I actually stepped off the elevator at nine ten, I think. In a perfect world, I would have stepped off into a crowd of people that recognized me by sight. They would have rushed over to me, surrounded me, but kept a respectable distance, and all been thrilled to see me. They would talk about the books that they loved, about the comics they thought I had written brilliantly, and at least two of them would proposition me for s*x.
