CHAPTER FIVE Like a Jack-in-the-box, Rey’s head popped between Linda’s and mine, seated in the front of the Jeep. Our curious eyes were focused on Caprize’s sizeable two-story Kahala house, situated several yards back on a sizable lot. “We sure lucked in getting an address so fast,” she said, an uneaten black Twizzler protruding from one side of her mouth. “It helped that Gail’s HPD pal has the hots for you,” Linda kidded. I chuckled, envisioning the IT-savvy fellow’s sharp-nosed Pomeranian-face. Talk about lovesick puppies. “Too bad we didn’t luck in with Morris the same way.” “Yeah, that was a real dud. Talk about no-value add,” Rey murmured. “It wasn’t a total loss. Morris reinforced the fact that Howdy-Doody is—was—a nice young man who liked to cut loose drink-wise now and again
