Chapter 52 - Sea Waves

The night sky was full of twinkling and sparkling stars. The blanket was set on the sand and Erina sat on it. She was watching the twinkling stars which made herself at peace.  She laid on the blanket and started tracing the stars on her finger. She was wishing about finding her family.  "Erina." Gavin sat beside her. "What should you do of you love someone?"  "What do you mean?"  "I just wonder why people fall in love with each other." He sighed and chuckled. "I don't know why I'm curious."  The space between them became an inch when Erina sat closer to him. "I wonder too how long or how far love is." "We'll know if time comes that we're in love." His senses got back when he said that. He saw how she looked seriously at him. "I mean, if we fall in love with our special someone."  Erina nodded, looking back at the stars and she saw the meteor. "There it is." She closed her eyes and wished something special. She wanted to know how love rules the human being. She wanted to clarify things about her lost memories and to her family that she would meet them soon.  The witch was simply watching them. She was wearing her violet cropped top coat with a lengthy skirt and paired with boots. She put her witch hat on her head and almost disappeared but the Grandfather stopped him.  "Wait." His voice was something stern tone.  "It's you, Arman." She was able to recognize his face beneath the night sky. His face became old while hers was not the same. It was the face of which she had a contract with.  "What do you plan now?" His eyes became fierce as she was pulling back her wrist.  "Stop this. I'm scared of you or else I'll scream." Her eyes went small and her brows met. She didn't know that she would go this far.  "What are you going to do? Are you going to hurt people again?"  She couldn't believe that he remembered him with her new face. "I don't know what you're talking about."  "Anabelle!" His voice was raised and give her wrist back.  Her eyes widened when he called her. She missed how he treated her like she was no other. She unconsciously cupped his right cheek and stared at his eyes. He caressed her arm until it reached her hand. He put it down and she was upset.  "I wish I could go back in the time where we loved each other." She really meant it.  "There's no turning back, Anabelle. You know that." His fierced eyes were now burning her. She felt how he was disgusted with her.  "I'm sorry, Arman. I didn't mean it. I was scared that time." Little by little, her heart was pierced with something pointed thing. She couldn't breathe as he despised and hate her.  "There's nothing to be sorry about. The damage has been done."  "Arman." She couldn't reach for him walking away. She remembered how she was watching his back while she was carried away by the mermen guards and put her to a cell.  She realized that she needed his help. She ran after him, catching her breaths and stopped at his back. "I hid her because she's in danger. She needs you."  "That's why you're using me again?" His eyes drew a line on his forehead.  "No. I never did that to you. My intention was pure since I met you." She was sincerely begging for him to believe her through her eyes.  "Okay, fine. Let's forget the past. Tell me now what did you do to her."  "She's the princess. Her family needs her and I don't know how to approach her. If I couldn't do something, all will be useless." She wanted to say the truth that she sacrificed herself to save him but she kept it a secret.  "Then, what should I do?"  "Just let her know me." She was insisting about helping him about the financial things but he refused. He wanted to stay away from the mermaids and mermen. His bad experience was enough for him not to jelp her.  She gave him a piece of paper. "Just let me know." She pulled her witch hat down and disappeared from his sight.  His eyes went teary when she left. He knew how he was hurt but why did his heart pounding loudly for her? Wasn't it right for him to recognize it?  "I'm confused." He fell on his knees, wiping his tears while he was having a feeling of missing her. He just hid his true feelings by rejecting her.  On the other side, there was someone near him. That one heard all of their conversations, felt confused and curious about what was the truth.  Nancy was watching Connie's moves all day long. She never got tired even in an hour. She wanted to spy about her and make something to destroy her image around their classmates, especially Theo. She knew that he wanted her so much. Unlike her, she was like an air to him now and she felt useless after being close to him secretly.  She tried getting closer to Theo by helping him sit but Theo just ignored her presence. He disliked her now and he felt like he was getting poisoned around her. "I wanted to talk to you." She wrote on a piece of paper and left it on his table.  Theo read it and his brows met. He knew her intention after being rejected by him. He wanted to take revenge for what she had done but his guts was thelling him not to do anything that would make him bad.  He threw the piece of paper to Nancy's desk and looked away. Nancy took a glance on him and saw the piece of paper. She read it and smiled, "I wanted to talk to you." She knew that he wouldn't let her down. Although, he was liking Connie.  Theo just ignored her for the rest of the day. Even how many times she would get in to his attention, he wouldn't bother anymore. At the end of the class, Nancy went to the rooftop garden and waited for Theo.  Connie was walking outside the gate when Theo saw her. He called her name and that made her to stop walking.  "What's up?" He started and brushed his hair up.  "I'm alright. And you?" She began to walk with him.  "I'm fine now. Actually, my injury was getting better today." He was smiling with her presence and he desired not to end this day. He would cherish to remember this for the rest of his life.  Connie got his idea but pretended like she didn't know his motive.  "I'll walk you home." His sweet words were getting to her ears perfectly. She really wanted to hear it for a long time. Today, it was a blessing for her to spend time with him.
