Chapter 16 - Cheesecake

1444 Words
All the students were busy doing their tasks and assignments while Erina was almost done. The bell rang as some students sighed. The unfinished business would be taken after lunch. The cafeteria was almost full of stories around Erina and Gavin. "How will you do your assignments since you have a part-time job?" Erina was craving a cheesecake. Gavin went to the counter and added two cheesecakes for their dessert. "Here's for us. I know that it's your favorite." Erina's heart skipped a beat as he ate his fried chicken dipped in a spicy sauce. Even on the first day he met him, he was always there for her. One thing that kept her heart guarded, was her fear of being rejected. How would she confess her feelings for him if Morpheus was making a move for her? Morpheus put the tray beside hers. "Let me join you." Gavin's eyes went down at the cheesecake. "Yes." "So, are you two friends?" Morpheus was curious about them as he saw them walking together at home. "Yes." Gavin was seriously taking it as something fishy. His instinct was telling him that he knew something about them. He thought of being kicked out as they were living together in a house. "The news is that your family owned a restaurant. Maybe, I'll find some time to get there." "Yes. I think that's a good idea." They both laugh while Erina is thinking about making them close as friends. She didn't know that the two were best friends before when they were a child. It was a huge mistake that made them apart. Gavin had finished his meal and then, said goodbye to the two. "So, are you comfortable with me now?" Morpheus was looking at how she eats. "Yes. I'm starting to know you that's why we should take time for it." Erina drank her iced tea and invited him to go back to class. Nancy was secretly glaring at her seat. Delilah was holding her fork and smashed the potatoes on her plate while looking at them. "I think that this is not right." Delilah stopped smashing the potato. "Well, let's see who'll win. Let me take time to think of a plan." Nancy crossed her arms while seeing Erina and Morpheus walking away. The students' ball must be ongoing at 6:00 pm tomorrow. The night jam-goers must wear decent dresses and suits. All were busy looking for their dates. "I think that you'll be my girl tonight." Zack was wearing a white shirt with black pants. His posture was a manly figure that would make girls fall. Nancy took the bouquet of red roses. "Yes." Morpheus was walking near the corridor. He heard the conversation of the couple in front of their room. He met Nancy's eyes and refused to stare at them for long. He went into the classroom, putting on his headphones and thinking of dancing with Erina tomorrow night. "Hey, let me do that." Rossana picked the eyebrow liner and made the brows of Erina a little bit thicker. Riza was thinking about not going tonight. "I think I should not go." Lily licked her lollipop and smirked, "I shouldn't too. I have to go somewhere." "Lily? You'll escape again? Not this time." Rossana grabbed her arms behind her using her arms and strength. Riza laughed at them and pulled her to the dress boutique. "Hey, Riza! I thought you were not going." Lily shouted like a child. "Let's go and have your dress tonight." Rossana was serious about looking for a dress for her. Suddenly, Nancy and Delilah opened the door of the boutique. "Let's go, Delilah. It smells something here." Nancy grasped the arm of Delilah and sighed. "I thought we were looking for a dress." Delilah started arguing with her and rolled her eyes. " Yes, but I think that we mustn't go there." She went to the nearby boutique of dress and smiled at her. "Look, it's here." The two went there to try the dresses for tonight's event. Nancy chose a navy blue dress and Delilah chose a pink dress. They enjoyed trying the dresses and went to the salon to book their hair and make-up tomorrow. They were sure that many girls would demand in that salon. Gavin was walking alone to get home after his part-time job. He was holding a plastic bag of milk teas for them. He would like to cool down his stress and tiredness. "I like to relax." He sat on the couch while Georgie and Mochi were preparing the table for dinner. "Let me massage your back." Erina offered him but he closed his eyes. In response to it, Erina massaged his shoulders and back. "To the left side, please." He felt how soft and light her hands were and enjoyed the moment. Georgie was smiling secretly when Mochi saw her while placing the plates on the table. "Look who's smiling." He teased her. "Yes, I'm just happy." "So, you like them for each other, huh?" Mochi was too straightforward. "Yes, of course. We're not siblings at all." Georgie chuckled softly and continued placing the glasses with water on the table. Erina gave Gavin a cheesecake. She liked that cupcake when he gave it to her once. She was tired at that moment and tried eating the cheesecake. She smiled and learned that it would take your bad feelings to be lifted mood of happiness. Gavin looked at the cheesecake. He remembered that day when she was tired and lonely, sitting in her seat in their classroom. He gave it to her and it made her smile. He went out of their class and danced a little to celebrate his feeling of being in love. The Grandfather knocked on the door and Georgie opened it for him. "Thank you, Lolo!" She was excited to see the box. When she opened it, it was a new white shoes for her. "This is yours." The Grandfather gave Mochi a pair of white shoes too. "This is too much." Georgie hugged her Grandfather and smiled. Gavin looked at Erina. He thought she wanted it too then, he decided to buy her a pair of white shoes tomorrow. When he turned his eyes to the dining table, they gathered all there. "What's this?" He was looking at a fried chicken. "That's my specialty." Georgie was proud of herself and did a high five with Mochi. "Wait, have you gone to the boutique for your event tomorrow?" Gavin was confused and after a few seconds, he remembered it. "Not yet. I'm going to buy it tomorrow morning." He put the milk teas out of the fridge and gave it to them. "This is too much blessing." Georgie took a sip of her milk tea and offered him help to choose his tuxedo. "I'll take care of your tuxedo tomorrow. "Good." He was amazed at how the fried chicken tasted. It was juicy and tender. "This is too good." He made up his mind when Georgie offered her help. Perhaps, he would ask her tomorrow what a girl wanted for a pair of shoes but no, he decided to look for another option. He might be teased after buying those shoes tomorrow. He sighed softly and began drinking his milk tea. "What's with the look?" Georgie was looking at him teasingly. "Have your date tomorrow." She gave a hint to Erina and he smiled wryly. "Just eat your dinner." He placed a piece of fried chicken on her plate and she was annoyed at him. "I'm just spicing your re-" Her mouth stopped uttering a word when he teased her with a look at Mochi. "Why?" Gavin whispered something to Mochi and they pretended like he heard it. "Is that it? I'm so glad." Mochi looked excited and happy after a whisper. Gavin stuck his tongue out and smiled. Georgie's mood became bad when she was teased. She couldn't face Mochi who was asking for a piece of fried chicken. The night sky was full of stars. It was a good thing to relax before everything would be exhausting tomorrow. The Grandfather was thinking about Anabelle. Perhaps, she was looking for Erina and he was afraid of something that might hurt his grandchildren. He knew the truth about the legend which nobody wanted to have heard. They would shut their mouth to keep it a secret; if the legend was true, the prophecy was real. It was like forcing himself to protect Erina. He wanted to escape with the reality instead of facing it. At this moment, he sat on his bed and laid himself there.
