Chapter 11 - Make Her Smile

It has been a week since Erina had an accident at the rooftop garden. She was on her bed eating breakfast when she heard three knocks on the door. There she saw Gavin standing beside the door, holding a food bag.

"Good morning, Gavin." Her lips made a beautiful curve. He put the food on her small table and there, he served her fruits. "Wait, it's too much for me to eat."

"Just eat it all." He sliced an apple into pieces and waited for Erina to finish her breakfast.

"Gavin." He looked at her the way he looked like he was hiding his feelings for her. It was difficult for him to stay like this. His heart was pounding loudly, fearing that she would hear the beats. "Eat with me. I know you're not getting enough sleep just to come here and care for me."

She offered him a sliced apple and put it in his mouth. His face reddened when she did that. He was uncomfortably sitting near her that was why he stood up. "I think I should go out."

"Why?"

"I'm getting something to finish my homework." He was about to leave but she refused. She was holding his arm and pleased to tell that she wanted to pee.

"Gavin, please help me."

"Okay, let's do it." He helped her to move but her right foot was still aching so, he carried her to the restroom.

"Don't leave me yet." She was struggling to put up her hospital gown and she adjusted herself by sitting on the bowl. "This is hard for me."

"But, why did you choose to save me instead of yourself?"

Erina looked at the closed door. "I don't know. I just wanted to save you from any harm."

Gavin looked unwell when he felt guilty for not saving her. He was blaming himself why he didn't see the falling scaffoldings. If he ever saw her before that accident, she would be saved.

"Don't blame yourself. I'm fine." She went out of the restroom and asked him to go back to her bed.

"Eat." She offered him an apple but he refused. "Just eat this or else I'll make something that will make you angry."

"Okay, I'll do it. Just have some rest." He was sitting beside her bed and wanted to see her secretly. He didn't want her to be in trouble. "I promise to protect you."

"What do you mean?" Her brows met and saw him stunned. He put a slice of an apple in her mouth.

"Just eat this and this." He gave her an orange and a banana.

She chuckled and looked at him smiling. "You're weird."

"Why do you say so?" He seemed grumpy and crossed his arms.

"You're the most caring and most loving person I've ever met." She gave him a small hug.

"What are you doing, Erina?" He was uncomfortable on what he felt. His heart was racing so fast because of her touch. '"Stop this."

"No, Gavin. I feel what you feel." She was about to free him but he hugged her back and gave her a tap.

"I hope you'll be fine."

"I'm fine. See?" She raised her two hands above her head and went out of balance. "Aw!"

He caught her while he was looking at her head. Her right cheek was on his chest. "What are you doing? You're something. Stop it."

She wanted to hear his heartbeat that was why she listened more. When she looked at his eyes, she was amused. "Why do our hearts beat the same?" When she was trying to put his hand on her chest to prove it, her lower body dropped to the ground. "Ouch!"

"Get up, Erina. What's with that question? We're humans so, we have that."

Erina was upset but she didn't know why. She was confused about her identity. She wanted to dig more about her past. She was desperate sometimes to know what she was doing here and there.

"What's the matter?" He raised a brow and looked at her gloomy face.

"Nothing." She shook her head and sighed. "It's making me confused now. I feel like I'm a stranger."

"What makes you feel that?"

"I couldn't understand. I wanted to know about myself." She covered herself with the quilt.

"Just take some rest and you shouldn't think of that. Just think of your present." Gavin switched off the light and went to the small couch.

"Good night, Erina."

"Good night and sleep well, Gavin." They were both fell asleep for a few minutes.

Georgie was taking care of Seven in the living room while Mochi was busy doing his homework. "Aren't you going to do your assignments?"

"Not yet until he falls asleep." Georgie took a glance at him and pretended to focus herself on Seven.

Mochi was busy and realized that he had fallen asleep reading his books. He was doing it to get better grades. He wanted to know everything about this world. He was curious about different places like in the history. When his notebook fell to the ground, he have woke up.

He saw Georgie sitting on the couch and Seven was soundly sleeping on her lap. He was watching her simply and went to the kitchen to bake some cookies for their snacks.

"Georgie." She heard him calling her. "Let's have a snack."

She opened her eyes and surprised at his face. "Oh, my!"

"I'm sorry." He smiled a little and petted her hair. She felt like she was cared for and loved when he was doing it.

"Let's eat." She didn't make him notice and went to the dining room. "Is this delicious?"

"Yes. I tasted it first before serving."

When time passed by, she got used to being with him. He was becoming closer to her and she was getting to know him. She was amused by his kindness and his smile was making her melt.

"You're right, it's delicious." She drank the pineapple juice and wanted more cookies.

"Is your homework done?"

She shook her head and sighed deeply. "It's Mathematics. I don't know to answer all the problem-solving."

"Leave it to me." He didn't know why he said such a thing. He felt like he was impressing her.

"No, just tutor me."

They went to the living room and they were studying the solving-problems. They worked together as he was inspiring Georgie to do her best in studying. She was amazed at how smart he was. She wanted to be on his level so that while they were growing up, she would stay by his side.

She wanted to be part of his life forever. Although she didn't know his thoughts about her, she would do everything to be impressive and attractive to his eyes.

"Are we done?" Mochi asked her but she fell asleep with her arms crossed on the table. He got a quilt and covered her back. "You're really cute." He was petting her head and turned his look at Seven. He was looking at them.

Erina have been woken up when her arms fell. She saw Gavin sleeping beside her. She was brushing his hair gently and hummed a song that her Mother used to sing.

Gavin was feeling calm and peace was reigning around him. Her voice was making him feel loved. When she put her hand beside her, he got it and put on his head.

"Just do this until I fall asleep." He was cherishing the moment of her touch and her voice. He was making good memories with her. It seemed like his eyes were to say that he loved her but she couldn't see it unless the light would be switched on.

"Thank you, Gavin."

"Thank you for what?" He looked at her face.

"For staying by my side." She sat and cupped his cheeks with her both hands. He was making this moment his good memory. His world was slowly turned into a slow motion. He couldn't believe that this would happen in the middle of the night.

"You're welcome."

"But I owe you much money." She broke the moment and he chuckled.

"Your debt should be paid after we graduate. I know that you're having a hard time making your own money." He stood beside the window and saw the half-moon. "Look, the half-moon is beautiful today."

She was guided to stand by him. They went to the window and smiled at the full moon. Three asteroids were falling. Gavin made a wish while Erina waited for him.

"What is that for?" She was asking and looking at his eyes.

"I made a wish."

"A wish for?" Her brows met and looked back to the moon.

"Secret. I can't say it to you." He went back to the couch and there she was waiting for the falling asteroid.

"It's gone. There are three today." He was trying to cheer her up.

"But I believe that there's more." A few minutes later, an asteroid fell. She made her wish and prayed that it would come true.

"What did you wish for?"

"It's a secret too." She was guided back to the bed, smiling.
