Chapter 5 - The Class C

The hallway was filled with students walking, talking and laughing. It was a student boy who announced that they would have a new classmate.

“I tell you that we will have our new classmate and she’s not that beautiful.” He was stopped by a girl named Nancy and Delilah.

“We’ll, I tell you that nobody can be her friend since she is with Gavin. Just remember what I can do.” Nancy warned like a spoiled brat and Delilah crossed her arms. When the door was opened, the whole class was not paying attention to their teacher.

“Good morning, class. She’s your new classmate, Erina Lopez.” The beautiful teacher asked Erina to come forward but nobody dared to look at her except Gavin and Morpheus.

Erina sat between Gavin and Morpheus since Delilah and Nancy declined to offer the seats beside them. Morpheus put off his earphones and listened to the teacher’s lesson for the day.

Gavin was thinking that math subject was a waste of time. He was bored at the lecture so he opened his notebook and draw something. He caught the teacher's attention and she called him.

“Come here, Mr. Lopez.”

“Oh, sucks.” He said to himself and his trembling fingers was not able to write while holding the chalk. He realized that his head had nothing but full of trips. That was why he repeated a year and he could not even think of the correct answer.

“Okay, Mr. Lopez, go back to your seat.”

Erina stood up and wrote “3xy” on the blackboard and the teacher praised her.

“Let’s give her three claps for getting the right answer.” They clapped their hands but Nancy and Delilah didn’t. They just gave Erina the glare that would scare her but she smiled back at them in return and that was how they became more annoyed at her.

At lunch time, they called Erina at the roof top of the building. Nancy and Delilah were standing near the cross – wired wall.

“Do you know why you’re here?” Nancy crossed her arms and meanwhile, Erina was looking at them with innocence. “May be, you know it and you’ll find it difficult when your hypocrisy is already revealed.”

“You’re just a new student here and nobody else could take our place. We’re the smartest among the class and you, you should stay where you are.” Delilah rolled her eyes at the innocent smile of Erina.

“Why are you smiling?” Nancy slapped her face that made Erina’s hand cupped it.

“You’re being disrespectful.” Delilah glared at her.

Gavin ran at Erina to grab her hand but she made herself free.

“What are you doing?” Gavin was concerned about her.

“Then, why are you worried?” Delilah was feeling jealous. Since they were kids, she did not feel anything from Gavin in return with her kindness.

“Let her go or else, I will do something crazy.” He smirked and grabbed Erina’s hand. They walked away from them and stopped at the cafeteria to warn her.

“Erina, don’t let them abuse you. Just be with me all the time.” He took a bit of his cheeseburger and added, “They might hurt you a lot and I’ll be responsible for you.”

Erina was eating her strawberry cake with a smile and what made him feel irritated was she used her hand in eating. He looked around and teach her using the fork.

“You’re embarrassing me.” He looked down as she was using the fork happily. “Oh, no. You’re a hopeless one. I don’t know what I can do to you.” He was whispering to himself and ate his cheeseburger instead.

Georgie was busy in drawing her project but Mochi accidentally spilled his milk at her art. She glared at him and went outside of the class.

She was crying at the corner of the building where nobody could find her. Little did she know, Mochi followed her and gave his handkerchief to her.

“I’m sorry.” Mochi was sincere and hugged her.

“Stop it.” She was trying to free herself but she could do nothing with his strength.

“I said, I’m sorry.”

She did not know what was happening to her heart that made it beat so fast. So, she let him hug her.

The two came late at their next class in the afternoon. Georgie was still annoyed at him physically but in her heart, no. It was a feeling that she was unfamiliar about and it was making her feel uncomfortable.

Mochi wanted to make her happy since he did something bad at her art and this could be serious if he would make her annoyed at him.

After class, Georgie ran away when Mochi was approaching her. She ran until she could not hear him calling her name. She was afraid of having that weird feelings if he was near around her. Her thought was making a conclusion that it would kill her.

Later, when she was near at the gate of their house, she remembered that Mochi did not know how to go back. That made her ran back and find him. She was worried if he would be lost on the road. She would be guilty and would feel ashamed if he was lost already. She started having pity on him. She was listening to her conscience that he was a victim from the shipwreck but still, she was mean.

“This should not happen.” She was whispering at herself and almost tired with her legs. The kids around her were watching but she did not care. She continued searching around the campus and there, she did not know where Mochi go. She was blaming herself for being an irresponsible kid.

“This is my fault.” She was crying and the rain began to pour. Mochi came with an umbrella and she looked up at him.

“I’m afraid if you’ll get sick.” He was hugged by her and still, cried. “Why are you crying?”

“You’re just too kind for me.”

“Let’s go back at home.” He guided Georgie to the road and comforted her.

The two went home and he gave her towel to dry herself. That day, she felt guilty for being mean and she stayed awake the whole night.

The foods were ready at the table. Erina was busy sipping her chicken soup and smiling at them.

The grandfather was smiling at her too. “You look alright after a day at school. Now, you’ll have struggles starting from this day.”

Erina looked at him and wondered.

“If she needs help, I will not help her. She is quiet after all.” Gavin was eating bacon and looked at Erina. She was still smiling like she was innocent. That made him to eat his breakfast quickly and got ready for school.

He rode on his bike and Erina came too. They went at the school together but he told her not to go with him. She should walk until they reached the gate.

“Just walk and you’ll be safe from those girls.”

She returned her look on the road until they reached the gate. They saw Nancy and Delilah, so he passed in between of them and parked his bicycle at the side of the guard house.

“How rude!” Delilah came in front of him but he was hearing music in his earphones.

“Hey!” Nancy called his attention and he put off his earphones.

“What?” Gavin locked his bicycle and faced them.

Nancy would answer him but the girls were there at the gate because of the campus heartthrob, Morpheus Serrano. She came there to see his ultimate crush and the girls made way for her.

“Hello, sweetheart.” She was looking at Morpheus with her sparkling eyes. He rejected her by not looking back at her. “Morpheus.”

It was a year since she called his name. He was annoyed at her presence that was why he started walking away from her. She grabbed his bag, showing her teeth at him. Now, that he looked at her eyes, she put her hand on his.

“You should stop doing this or I’ll tell everyone what you did to me.” Morpheus forced to get back his hand.

Nancy was controlling her breaths as she was stopping her anger to boil. She walked to the aisle of a garden and ignored the eyes of the students around. As she was about to enter their classroom, she heard her classmates laughing. She felt annoyed at it and burst her anger.

“What happened?” They turn themselves at her.

“I’m not feeling well.” She started to bury her face on her arms crossed on her table. She was about to cry but she didn’t. She was regretting how stupid she was as she cheated on him.

She remembered that night how romantic they were with her other man. She was wearing her pink tank tops paired with yellow and black checkered skirt. Her back rested on a wall in the library.

“Zack.” She looked at his eyes with a smile on her face. He moved closer to her and grabbed her waist. He looked at her eyes with lust as she cupped his face.

“In the car”, he whispered at her. She knew that something will happen in his car. He grabbed her hand and walked out.

They both hopped in in the car and he started kissing her lips.
