The sound of chimes was pleasing to the ears when Erina entered a milk tea shop. There were few people gathered there, busy having a little chitchat with their friends. Either the place was not that cold or hot. It was a beautiful place to study.
Erina found a table in which it was near the glass window. She was staring at the buses stopping at the bus stop and people around looked calm. She turned her look at the waitress wearing a red ribbon on the top of her hair.
"Good day! May I ask for your order, Ma'am?"
"Wintermelon milk tea, please. Thank you." She smiled back at her. She was wondering how Gavin managed to be a hard-working person in times of his academic career.
She saw Gavin walking near the milk tea shop and waved at her. He was smiling genuinely which made her heart pound.
"So, this is what you wanted?"
"Yes. I thought you were with someone." She looked at his eyes and looked away.
"I've been with a friend. So, shall we start the study?" He raised a brow and smiled at the waitress. She put the two Wintermelon milk teas on their table and she began tutoring him on math subjects.
"This is suffocating." Gavin opened the first button on top of his checkered long sleeves.
"Let's have a break for fifteen minutes." Erina closed the math book and put it aside. "Well, do you want to ask anything?"
"Yes. Do you have a crush?" Gavin chuckled and he added, "I'm kidding."
Erina's face went red as he was teasing him.
"Your face is like a red tomato." He teased her until she rolled her eyes.
"Stop it!" She closed her eyes and looked at him when she opened her eyes completely.
Gavin felt the embarrassment around him. He did apologize but she put a pizza in his mouth.
"Stop talking like you're not blushing too." She pointed her finger at him and said, "Your face is red."
Gavin stopped teasing her and ate the pizza. He felt his face flushing with red so he excused himself to the restroom. "Stop it, Gavin. Stop this mess." He was striking his chest and washed his face with water. "Please stop beating for her." He looked at the mirror and wondered if she liked him back too. "No! I am getting tired of this."
"So, where are we now?" Erina asked while Gavin beside her. She was drinking her Wintermelon milk tea and he smelled the fragrance of it.
After ten minutes of studying, Gavin turned out to be patient while listening to her. It was easy for him to study if she was with him and now, he was enjoying the subject he hated for years.
"I think I should go there to order another drink." She was about to stand but he pulled her instead.
"Let me have it for you. It's my treat." He was keeping his feelings for the happiness of his heart.
"Okay. Thank you." She smiled and focused on their next topic.
A long day later, Gavin asked her to go out with him. "This is not a date."
"I am not asking for a date." She was frank and his face turned red again.
"Let's make it to the top of the one thousand steps." He went there first and teased her because she was slow to walk.
"Wait for me!" She ran behind him. "Stop running!"
He stopped running and they were catching their breaths. They reached the top and Erina saw how beautiful the sunset was. "It's beautiful."
Gavin looked at her while he was still catching his breath. "You're beautiful."
"What?" She thought she didn't hear him right.
"Nothing. Just beautiful." He looked to the sunset and asked her to sit. "Just wait here. After a few minutes, he put the blanket on the grass and put the Wintermelon milk tea, chocolate cupcakes, and biscuits there.
"You said that this is not a date." Erina was shocked at her reaction and he laughed.
"Yes, this is not a date. Just a picnic here." He gave her the Wintermelon milk tea and bit the biscuit.
They both enjoyed watching the sunset and he said, "Thank you for helping me today."
"You're welcome. You're my first student who did well today." She gave him a beautiful smile. She realized that it was his thanksgiving for her help. She kept guarding her heart that was why she was not upset about the truth. Maybe, she misunderstood his doings.
They were walking when they got in front of their house and they saw Georgie and Mochi doing their assignments separately.
"Look who's so hardworking today." Gavin was teasing Georgie because it was the first time he saw her doing her assignments.
"I am." Mochi was still excited to be hardworking in studying. This was his first learning about science and he was thinking about getting more knowledge so that he could help the Myrthe Kingdom.
Georgie's head bowed more while she was doing her assignment. "Just leave us now."
"Okay. Have some fun. I hope you'll not get zero tomorrow." He was kicked by Georgie because she was annoyed by him.
"Just stop teasing me!" She rolled her eyes and went back in writing.
"Fine. I'm going to sleep now. Good night." He went to his room and had a shower.
Erina was tired and rested for a while before having a shower. She didn't know why he was like that to her. It was a mixed signal for her the actions he wanted to convey about his feelings.
Mochi fell asleep while Georgie crossed her arms on the table and looked at him until her eyes were closed. The two were cute while they were sleeping on the table. Grandfather went there to put the blankets on them. He appreciated how Georgie had been working on her studies since Mochi arrived.
The night seemed long but another day was waiting for them. Erina would face other challenges about being a human in a short period. What would she do if there was something terrible waiting for her?
By the way, Gavin was there for her all the time. Maybe he could give a big help to her in the future or someone else would.
