My heart was beating fast and my hands were all sweaty. For the first time in a long time I was very nervous. Not sure as to how I should act. I wanted to show Alli that I was here for her. But at the same time I did not want to cross any boundaries, she didn't want crossed.
I followed behind her to her room and said a little prayer that I would do all the right things and not ruin my chances with her.
We waited as they got her changed and hooked up to all the machines before the nurse let us in the room. She was mid contraction when we walked in and I could see the pain on her face. I walked over to the bed and touched her check. She looked up at me and time stopped. The look on her face in that moment was one of both pain and bliss. I knew that me being near her helped her
