“Can I meet him?” I heard my own voice ask.
Oh, goddess! What am I doing? I can’t be serious! Did I really just ask to see his beast? This seemed like a bad idea. I could tell by the look on his face that my words shocked him too. He’s eyes kept doing that thing and I knew he was going in and out of conversation with Amos.
