The Beginning Of My Pain

           I have realized that I'm too young to engage with such things so I focused on my study and develop a goal for myself to be the first honor of our batch at the end of the school year. Months passed and the day for the end of the school year comes but unfortunately, I didn't reach my goal. I was unable to be the first honor of our batch, I'm just the second honor, therefore I promise myself to do my very best in the next school year. Here comes the summer, I didn't go on any vacation instead I made myself to study hard even not in school and have my own research for my upcoming lessons in the second-year so that I will be prepared enough and maybe by this time I will be enabled to reach my goal. Time passes so quickly and the summer vacation ended. I know what it means, it means the new school year is beginning. I'm so excited and I'm so prepared. I wake up so early and fixed myself to be presentable. When I entered the school gate I prayed, "New school year please be good to me!". I'm so happy that moment I step inside the gate and was excited to see my classmates again but I was surprised! The school admin made a shuffling in the section of the students. They did not base on our grades anymore. I entered a room where my name was listed and I feel really out of place. I was surrounded by new faces, just three of them are my old classmates from the last school year. It gives me comfort to see Bon, Lian, and Jlord inside the room. "Thank God I'm not alone." Bon, Lian, and Jlord are my close friends last year."Hey guys, it's nice to see you again. Thank God were classmates again. It was such a blessing because I still have friends here and I don't have to adjust a lot.", I greeted them. "Hi Leigh, it's nice to see you too.", Bon replied. "Yes Its good to know we're classmates again.", Jlord said. " Don't worry Leigh we got your back.", Lian follows. Were in the middle of our conversation when our teacher come in and said, "Good morning class, I am Miss Christine Brew, and I'm your adviser." We all replied, " Good morning Ma'am" and find our seat to sit. I choose to sit in front so that I can hear our lessons very well. On the left side of my seat Bon sit too. Jlord and Lian choose to sit at the back and I know their reason; so that the teacher will not see them well, such naughty boys. Miss Brew started to call our names to check if everybody is there. In the middle of the attendance checking, again I was surprised because of what I hear." Cyrus Reyes", my teacher call. From the back, I hear a voice, "PRESENT!" I immediately turn back and shock at whom I see. I t was Cyrus my first crush, what a co-incident! It's unbelievable! my crush is now my classmate! This could not happen because it might ruin my focus or even my goals!

              After the class, Bon teased me," Hey Miss Reyes, do you believe that love is in the air?"."What are you talking about?, such nonsense, you better shut up!" I replied but I won't deny I feel too much kilig that time. Since Cyrus and I are classmates now I know we will be given the chance to know each other and become friends or best friends and even more! Three days later we have been asked to make a task by a group and guess what, Yes! Cyrus and I are groupmates. I became the leader of our group and because of that task, we get to know each other. Cyrus approached me first," Hi, I'm Cyrus Reyes." "Hello, I'm Leigh." Then we've got to shake hands! At that moment I don't want to let go anymore! but he did it first. Cyrus being my classmate gives me a lot of time to know him more. I discovered that besides his gamer side, he is a good singer and guitarist too. It made me fall even more! As the months' pass, I  get to know him more. I know that his parents work abroad and only his grandmother takes care of him, he is a good son to his parents like when he often make short but sweet, meaningful messages for them and send them to his parents by chats. I'm also a year older than him. Knowing, it gives me a reason to call him "baby". It's not a flirty thing anyway because it was just a  joke. We became good friends in reality and in our social media accounts and even best friends as days pass. "Is this how destiny plays? my first crush is now my classmate, my friend, my best friend, what's next? my boyfriend? I laugh while thinking about those things but I was kinikilig too. Bon, my closest friend always teased me about Cyrus, and for an unknown reason, it makes me fall to him even more. All my feelings unlocked, but I can't tell Cyrus. I'm afraid of losing our friendship. I'm afraid of losing him! Even at my young age, I learn to love as no one can stop me. I know many would tell me to keep calm, it's just puppy love but for me, it's not, it's real! All I want is to be with him and make happy moments with him but I've remembered the rule and my number one goal. Instead of using my time in making him feel my love, I just used my time to study hard and make him my inspiration to reach my goal to be the first honor in our room and even in our batch. Every day I'm so much inspired to study knowing that Cyrus is just around me, my friend who is just around to support and cheer me up.
